Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • N/A
  • Ease of use, upload a PDF and that's it. No other PROS since I payed a fee but got no return for it.
  • Cheap one time doc translator BUT, they will charge your credit card later .. be aware, the account manager was hanging up the phone on me
  • Relatively good speed, customer service replied relatively quickly but without any conclusions, not recommended overall
  • None pros so beware of this site.

Cons

  • I used DocTranslator because I needed a one-time translation of a marriage certificate. I found the service through Google and came to the website only to translate one document. I paid for the translation and received the translated document after waiting several days. This was supposed to be a one-time document translation order. A few days later, DocTranslator charged my card an additional $29.99. This charge was made without any clear warning, without a separate confirmation, and without any obvious notice that my card would be charged again after the translation order. I did not receive a clear, direct, and unavoidable warning at checkout saying that I would be automatically charged $29.99 later. I was not asked to separately confirm a subscription. I was not clearly informed that a one-time translation order would turn into a paid subscription. When I contacted DocTranslator Support and requested a refund, they refused. Their support team replied that the checkout page “indicated” a 7-day trial and that I would be charged $29.99 automatically unless canceled beforehand. This is exactly the problem. If a company is going to charge a customer’s card later, this must be shown in a clear, direct, and unmistakable way. It should not be hidden inside checkout wording or presented in a way that a customer ordering a single document translation can miss. I came to DocTranslator for one translated document. I did not come to buy a subscription. I paid for the translation, received the translation, and then they charged me another $29.99 without any clear warning. In my opinion, this is a misleading billing practice. A customer should not be charged for a subscription after a one-time document translation unless the subscription is clearly presented, separately confirmed, and impossible to miss. DocTranslator refused to refund the $29.99 charge.
  • Uploaded a PDF in hebrew to AI translate to english. Got a "translated" document not in english, just random characters. Wrote to support and got, what I can only assume is a bot answer - "Company policy is strictly NO refunds. This policy is in place to ensure fairness and consistency for all users". So they provided NO service, charged money and won't refund out of fairness no other fools who used their service.
  • SCAM SCAM they charged my credit card for services that I never paid for be aware, the account manager was hanging up the phone on me
  • Misleading pricing- service was supposed to be free which was a scam, low quality of translation, raised the issue but no refund/ discount given
  • Using free machine translation and charging for that people and innocent customers.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - Countless Features - Simple and easy to use. - Very good projections. - You have all bibles in every language available.
  • - Stability; - Price; - Songbases, configuration etc are stored in json-files, you can process them manually or using other custom tools; I wrote a chat-bot based on WP-songbook; - No frequent and annoying version updates; - You can download older version from the official site easily;
  • Like every feature of it. This software has been well kept in mind and heart at the field level and has been made. Thank you so much. Not only on par with paid software, industry standard, but above that.
  • A lot of pros: * It's free * It's customizable * Ability to import songbooks from other programs; * Ability to download Bibles or songbooks; * Video background; * Familiar user interface for Windows users; * Many tutorials on program's homepage; * Great l10n support; * And much much more, you'll have to try for yourself.
  • First of all this software is free so that gives it the edge above other presentation software. It also makes great use of the Microsoft Office ribbon layout which automatically make the interface recognizable to even first time users. One of the best things about it is that it is a small and light software and on top of that you can create a portable version with everything in the standard on a USB Flash drive or any other storage. And most conveniently it runs on even the slowest of computers. Most favorable is the ability to work on an Agenda at home and the be able to carry the file to church on a drive and present songs, videos, images etc., that are not present on that computer. The backup feature is probably the most amazing as you can create a backup, install VideoPsalm on another computer and then use that backup to get everything you had in the software onto another computer. This is very useful for creating agendas from home as you have access to all the elements you would use in an service.

Cons

  • - I would have a more recent look or interface to look more updated.
  • - There were rare versions with some bugs, luckily, they were quickly fixed; - If resolution of the screen is changed, UI composition is broken and you need to adjust width of areas/components again; - I still think, start up time can be lower :)
  • Nothing and certainly nothing. No cons, we have everything we need inside Church and in the ministry outside churches.
  • The only thing that I can think of is that there is no possibility to create song sequence. If there are 3 verses and 3 times chorus in the song, then it has to be present in the song text 3 times. You can not type it once and then arrange a sequence. But once you copy/paste choruses, you can forget about it.
  • The time it takes to start the software is noticeable but with each update this time is decreased. One issue is its lack of support for opening PowerPoint file outside of the use of the actual Microsoft Office PowerPoint application this poses problems when using other office suites. Also when transitioning in and out of edit mode the is a split second which the software take to change the view, but this is only seen on the operators side.
