About

Mint is a macOS storage cleanup and file-organization app for developers, independent professionals and studios working on individual Macs. It maps disk use and presents caches, build output, app leftovers and supported AI-coding workspace data for review before cleanup. Users can preview folder-organization plans, apply selected moves, and run enabled Auto Care routines while Mint is running. For eligible duplicate or supported files, Optimize can reduce storage use while keeping files in place. Mint Direct also provides a command-line interface and Model Context Protocol server for storage queries and supported cleanup from scan plans; these agent tools do not expose every in-app operation. File analysis and organization run locally on the Mac. Available actions, free allowances, recovery and licensing vary by edition and operation. Requires macOS 14 or later.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • - Can recover RAW files from memory cards (including CF and SD cards); - Full file preview after drive scanning
  • Nothing about this software is satisfactory! They do not stand behind their product! They offer a free trial, but they say it recovers a limited number of files. They therefore trick you into buying the Pro version, promising stellar results and lifetime upgrades. This is not inexpensive software! I ran it with the most thorough and aggressive settings possible to recover a 1 TB HDD which had been unintentionally formatted. It took over 10 hours to run the scan! IT DID NOT RECOVER A SINGLE FILE! I asked for a refund and was told they do not provide refunds! They 'claim' I had ample opportunity to try the free version before buying. I AM VERY ANGRY! DO NOT BE DRAWN IN BY THIS CROOKED COMPANY!
  • I purchased the Pro version of Disk Drill after viewing a list of my deleted files with the Free version. I was optimistic my files could be recovered.

Cons

  • - You can recover only 500MB of files for free, to recover more you need to upgrade to Pro version
  • They offer a free trial, but they say it recovers a limited number of files. They therefore trick you into buying the Pro version, promising stellar results and lifetime upgrades. • What Disk Drill fails to inform you BEFORE purchasing is deleted files on an SSD drive are “probably not” recoverable. This means Disk Drill is completely worthless for any modern computer system built within the last 5 years. You only learn this fact AFTER purchase. Contacting technical support for help is a waste of time. They will ask you to provide some technical information about your computer and that's when you find out Disk Drill is incapable of recovering deleted files from an SSD drive.
