Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros * The context awareness is the best I've seen (knows my whole repo). * The quality of the autocomplete/supercomplete is excellent. * New features all the time and they're actually good. It's helpful for any project with little bits of help it gets you really far, gets you to the finish line. - Smart business model. Compared to the raw ChatGPT model you don't feel that message limit, and even when you do, you have plenty of other competitive models to use while you're getting back your capacity. - Auto-completion is useful, but it's pretty much for any assistant - They are listening. Compared to the whales in this niche they do hear us and quickly react, reflect, and implement leading ideas. The autocomplete is easily my favorite feature and the one I use the most. It gets better as you develop more and it really does a great job of understanding your coding style and adapting to it. The conversation chat is also really helpful when I have general app architecture or syntax related questions. I also find myself using the inline commenting feature quite frequently and I love not having to type out all the comments myself. Using Codeium has made refactor suggestions easy by having the ability to highlight specific sections of the code within an IDE! I specifically use VS Code and it has been working pretty smoothly. I also like having the option of having a chat box so that I can discuss other topics. Cons * The documentation is lacking. * They have the option to use their own models or OpenAI or Anthropic but there's no quantitative comparison of their quality. Content awareness, chat focus, working folder awareness. - The "Ctrl + I" code generator I found to be exceptionally useless. It breaks or deteriorates your code. - GPT-4o is overrated. Although I use the inline action buttons a decent amount, sometimes they clutter the code as I am trying to read through the file. I am not sure if there is an easy way to add a keyboard shortcut that allows for toggling these on/off, but if there is, that would be a nice feature to add. Codeium sometimes struggles to connect to my IDE and I am unable to use. I haven't been able to figure out the cause of this but sometimes I am unable to use Coddium for a couple days and then all of the sudden it is back.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros 1. PyCharm is an intuitive IDE with some useful features like auto-indentations, debugging and refactoring of code. 2. It can be easily integrated with docker and git for seamless version controlling without having to install any extra application. 3. The extension store has a lot of useful and variety of extensions. 4. It is robust, reliable and provides fast compilation timings. - PyCharm is a smooth IDE for python development which can be integrated with many frameworks like Django. - It has some useful features like auto-completion, suggestion, error detection, debugging and auto indentation which helps in seamless python development. - It supports in built testing like unit testing. - It is intuitive and has a modern user interface. 1. It has an excellent auto complete features that helps tremendously by suggesting syntax. 2. It can be customized heavily according to the user's preference. 3. The debugging features works really well. 4. It has inbuilt dark mode, which is better on eyes during long coding sessions. - PyCharm is a simple and intuitive IDE for python development which supports various plugins and extension for additional features. - There is an in-built terminal, so the developer doesn't have to use an additional terminal, which in overall saves a lot of time when working on big projects. - Syntax highlighting, debugging and suggestions feature works seamlessly every time. - Even though it is especially crafted for python development, it also works like a charm with other programming languages. - It is the best IDE to code on python. - The features are optimized and function every time. - The debugging features comes very handy in finding errors. - It can easily be used for developing big python projects or just to practice programming. - The community version, free to use. Cons 1. The syntax errors do not get stated clearly in the debug console. - The startup is slow when opening a recent worked file. - Paid version is not affordable for most beginners. 1. It takes a lot of system space during installation and consumes RAM while running. - The startup of the application consumes a lot of system resources and takes more time at startup than other IDEs. - It is a bit expensive IDE for fresher developers who want to use it commercially. - The IDE can be a bit too heavy on the RAM if the system has low specification, but, other than this, is not much con to talk about.
