About

We are where art starts, but that's only the beginning. We are the movement for the liberation of creative expression. We believe that art is for everyone, and we're creating the cultural context for how it is created, discovered, and shared. Fella Founded in August 2000, DeviantArt is the largest online social network for artists and art enthusiasts, and a platform for emerging and established artists to exhibit, promote, and share their works with an enthusiastic, art-centric community. We have over 61 million registered members and attract over 45 million unique visitors per month. Our members — known as deviants — upload tens of thousands of original pieces of art every day, everything from painting and sculpture to digital art, pixel art, films, and anime. Artists love us because we are an inclusive and supportive community. We help them find their identity through self-expression. We provide the tools, resources, and exposure to enable them to become better artists.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • As a core plus member at $15.00 a month, they only take out 2.5% in fees on any subscriptions sold. Has a long time fan base.

Cons

  • Very bad customer service. Very bad interface and options in terms of laying out your offerings/content. Just one long page that a user must scroll through to see all the content. Does not allow you to break up your content into sub galleries within a subscription tier and if you are a member who puts up a lot of content, this is a problem. Does not allow you to upload HD videos to your subscriber areas - only 320x240 mpegs which is why retention is so low because nobody wants small, antiquated video formats. Often bogs down on it's own servers, making uploading sometimes impossible. Terrible customer service. Will not respond to you most of the time. Will ban you from the site, shot down your gallery without notice if someone complains about your work. Not consistent in what they will allow vs. what they won't. You can only load one piece at a time. This takes forever. Features designed to upsell, like "special downloads" that are supposed to allow larger files are next to impossible to set up and give you an error message 99% of the time.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • i like how easy it is to find customers to sell your products to and simple it is to publish and get organic views.
  • 1. The user interface of the application is intuitive and clean looking. 2. The search features works accurate all the time in displaying most relevant search results. 3. It helps a lot in transforming an idea into a picture by taking inspiration from the already created pictures and art. 4. Pictures and GIFs can be saved or pin for future use. 5. Images can be downloaded in high quality.
  • Pinterest helps give you ideas of how to design, travel, cook etc. I also like you how can then add your ideas on there too.
  • - Pinterest is the best platform to search and explore for images of the latest trends. - The images are of high quality and can be downloaded easily with single click. - The recommendation algorithm works great in suggesting the relevant images according to the previous searches. - It is available on all the platforms.
  • It's so nice to be able to get ideas of what other people do. I am not a very creative person, but the amount of ideas I get form Pinterest is amazing!

Cons

  • Pinterest is one of my favorite platforms so there isn't any bad aspect of it for me, except i wish they return the multiple pics per post feature.
  • 1. There hasn't been any solid con in my usage, everything works perfectly.
  • I don't like how most recipes on Pinterest send you to a blog. Then these blogs usually have so much unnecessary information that you have to scroll through.
  • - There isn't any feature to download the videos directly from the application. - The recommendation feed changes drastically after every search and does not show the feed according to the aggregate of all searches.
  • I dislike that I have to be signed in to effectively use Pinterest. I just want to look at things sometimes and I have to go through the whole log in just to see things.
