Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Clean and to the point interface. Free & Open source. Lots of extensions / plugins. Universal - Allows connecting to most of the popular db's via plugins. Has multiple Db management utilities. Multi platform - Available on mac, windows, linux.
  • Simple to use. Does not attempt to maximize unnecessary (and non functional) features. Responsive developers. Reverse engineer existing DBs from connections or scripts. And can generate a completely db independent ERD. The price rocks. The documentation generator is by far the best I've seen.

Cons

  • For a free solution and a universal one - I can't find any cons.
  • It is simple and sometimes manual alterations of DDL is needed (e.g., sharding, if present). I'm not (yet) allowed to use it at my current place of employment.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • ispmanager makes everyday server and website management much easier. The interface is clear, the main tools are easy to find, and routine tasks such as adding websites, managing domains, databases, email accounts, PHP versions, SSL certificates, DNS settings, and backups can be completed without unnecessary complexity. I also like that many tasks can be handled directly from the panel without constantly using the command line. The new interface is cleaner, more modern, and easier to navigate.
  • Most of the time I use the file manager (when migrating websites to CMS) and the shell console. Well, the dashboard with basic information about the account helps to assess the situation immediately. Also, I want to mention that Docker with different versions of mysql is a great thing. Very useful for me personally. Since my websites are adjusted for mysql 5.7 and on it they work much faster, since there is caching. Not so in the case of version 8, where the websites are slowing down. And this way both are installed and work well together. Cpanel never offered different versions of mysql, which was very stressful.
  • - Great user-friendly interface. It's intuitive and easy to understand. - Docker support - Very lightweight, does not require huge server resources. - The functionality is extended by additional modules. - OpenLiteSpeed support.
  • + It's really easy to use. You don't need any special DevOps knowledge to work with ISPmanager + Friendly interface + Cheap

Cons

  • Some advanced settings could have more detailed explanations inside the panel. For users with limited server administration experience, a few options may still require checking the documentation before making changes.
  • I don't like the lack of security for corporate email. Few settings little protection. Can only be used for basic tasks.
  • - The number of available modules could be more. - missing the Spanish and German localization out of the box.
  • - Support could be a bit faster. Despite good documentation you have to wait for an hour before a manager come to your ticket.
