About

Command A+ is Cohere’s fastest and most powerful language model yet, an open-source enterprise workhorse built for complex reasoning, multimodal and multilingual agentic tasks, and efficient private deployment. It is a sparse mixture-of-experts model with 218B total parameters and 25B active parameters, designed for high-performance agentic workflows with minimal compute overhead. Command A+ unifies capabilities from across the Command family into one scalable model, supporting text, image, reasoning, and tool use with a 128K input context, 64K max generation, and support for 48 languages. It is optimized for reasoning, agentic workflows, RAG, multilingual work, and multimodal document processing, with support for vLLM and Transformers. Compared with earlier Command A models, it improves enterprise workload performance across multimodal understanding, retrieval, long-horizon tasks, complex reasoning, coding, translation, and document understanding.

About

Gemini 3.8 Flash is Google’s most intelligent Flash workhorse model, delivering significant improvements over 3.7 Flash across software engineering, agentic tasks, and critical multi-step reasoning in specialized domains. Built for long-horizon coding and autonomous agents, it can solve complex engineering problems end to end and delivers the dependability required for critical enterprise autonomy across specialized knowledge domains. The model shows stronger performance in quantitative and professional fields that require advanced analysis and reporting, as well as multi-step reasoning across STEM, humanities, and professional subjects. Its gains stem from a core design choice: Gemini 3.8 Flash works harder on complex tasks, executing additional reasoning steps and calling tools iteratively to maximize performance. At higher effort levels, it may use more tokens to pursue stronger results, while developers can select lower effort levels.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It holds onto the plan better than earlier Flash models, especially when a task involves multiple files, tools, and several rounds of reasoning. The 1M-token context window is also genuinely useful. I can throw much more of a repo, documentation set, or project history at it without constantly trimming context. I also like that Google kept Flash pricing aggressive. Gemini 3.8 Flash launched at the same introductory price as 3.7 Flash: $0.75 per million input tokens and $3.75 per million output tokens, while still delivering a noticeable jump in coding and agentic capability.

Cons

  • The main downside is that it can use more tokens than 3.7 Flash, especially at higher thinking levels. Google even recommends dropping to lower effort or using 3.7 Flash when compute efficiency matters more than maximum accuracy.
