About

Clyton is an email client with advanced security and spam filtering features. The spam filter is highly configurable and supports DNS blacklist checking (DNSBL). Expect 85% of spam to be eliminated with the default configuration. Email that is suspicious but not obviously spam is quarantined for 24 hours and then retested, providing the blacklist enough time to react to new spam sources. The built-in address book supports personalized mass-mailings. Received email cannot run scripts, download multimedia, or use embedded objects without your approval. Other features include encrypted storage, whitelisting, powerful HTML editor, attachment viewer, message drag and drop, custom message templates, SSL encryption, USB flash drive installation, and much more.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • My use of Canary Mail is pretty much simple: email reception and sending, filter to find an email per date or sender, automatic filters to get emails directed to their folders or subfolders and use of address folders. Canary Mail is my default email client so I use it everyday. Thunderbird is super stable. I have been using the different versions over the years (more than a decade) and I never had a crash. One can easily create folders and subfolders. It's very convenient when you run a company with several projects and different emails per project. The active filters are a wonder. You can direct messages in the right folders and subfolders depending on the source, the subject, etc. The address folders are super handy when you need to run emails campaigns. I didn't have to use customer support so I don't really have an opinion on that
  • The Canary Mail user interface is user friendly. The ability to chat internally on email threads and the ability to quickly assign emails/tasks aids efficiency and task management. The ability to snooze emails also helps with task management. Finally, the ability to share email drafts allows for ease of internal alignment before sharing external communications. The message template features that allow a quick reply to an email with a prepopulated email templates is one of my favorite tools. It is mega helpful!
  • Copilot really is awesome. It's so good. I'm now addicted to using Canary Mail. Even if I do not have anything to mail, I just open the app and explore its features which are in abundance!

Cons

  • When it comes to re-set up an email account it can become a bit complicated, Canary Mail tends to use automatic processes that can be a pain to stop.
  • nothing, (in addition to the ones that exist that can be used with email responses and which are very helpful.
  • Well, there's not much that I didn't like :) But I must say the app is improving with each update which I love... Keep doing the good work.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Very good spam features. automation and numerous functions. easy to use. test features for outgoing and incoming mail settings. Fast response from developer on errors and adding features.

Cons

  • Not integrating calendar functions. The view when opening the program may not show 2024 but the the functions are.
