About

CallSheet: Crew Calls is call sheet software for producers, production coordinators and assistant directors on commercial, film, television and photo shoots. It runs on iPhone, iPad and Mac, with a browser app for producers on the same account. Build the shoot day from Apple Contacts or a vCard or CSV import: general and personal call times, a full run of day with locations, company moves and meals, and the shoot day weather. Every call sheet carries a Sun Path, the true-north sun bearing and elevation at each location, and a Site Map drawn over satellite imagery for the gate, route, staging and parking. Publishing sends each person a private link and the PDF. Crew install nothing and need no account. The producer sees who viewed and who confirmed, and a change reaches only the people it affects. A Wrap Sheet closes the day with a thank-you and how to invoice. Drafting and PDF export are free. CallSheet Pro adds sending and tracking at $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • It's the "premiere" scheduling software so has somehow become a standard for narrative scheduling. The calendar to board functions are better than most.
  • I use MM Scheduler because it's all I know. Telephone support has always been excellent. Reaching them any other way is a drag, though.

Cons

  • This app is so outdated and frustrating. The EP instructions and website UI to even get the update are all out of date.
  • I do have an issue which will probably result in my switching to Jungle software. I'm on Windows 10. Whenever I double click on the program to open it - and often when I single click on it, and sometimes even when I open it using a drop down menu selection - a prompt appears telling me that "an instance of the program appears to be running," and to close it down. Of course, no other "instance" is running, and I'm unable to solve the problem. Support talked me through solving the problem: go to Computer/Users/Name and delete the locked MM file that appears there. Great, but it's a pain in the butt to do this every time I open the program. I recently tried to email Support to see if this problem is ever going to be resolved - I've been dealing with it for two years - and I received a link to go to a forum. No, thanks. My wife has switched to Jungle, and I'm waiting for her feedback, but I'm probably giving up on this "industry standard."
