About

Brave Search is a privacy-focused search engine from the creators of the Brave Browser. Brave Search does not currently show ads. Eventually it will have an ad-supported free model, or a paid model that does not show ads. Brave Search API: Power your search and AI applications with the fastest growing independent search engine since Bing. Access an index of billions of pages with a single API call. All users can get started for FREE for up to 1 query per second, and 2,000 queries per month. Brave is one of only a few global, independent search providers, and it’s the fastest growing search engine since Bing. Get access to high-quality data that’s actually usable. Build everything from search engines to AI apps. As the default engine in the Brave browser, Brave Search is consistently refreshed with new data via its Web Discovery Project contribution framework.

About

CatchAll is a recall-first web search API built to find every real-world event, not just the top-ranked result. It searches 2+ billion web pages, including press releases, business announcements, trade publications, industry blogs, and local news, to surface complete answer sets for high-stakes research questions. Each query returns tens of thousands of candidate pages, validated with AI for relevance and credibility, deduplicated through graph-based clustering, and structured into clean datasets with entities, amounts, dates, and citations. In benchmarks, CatchAll surfaced 64.5% more true positives than the next-best competitor and far outpaced generic AI research tools on completeness. Continuous monitoring (daily, weekly, or real-time) turns one-off searches into ongoing intelligence feeds, built for enumeration tasks where recall, not ranking, is what matters.

Audience

Anyone interested in a search engine with a focus on privacy

Audience

CatchAll fits teams that need exhaustive, structured answers pulled from across the open web rather than a handful of top search results. Typical users include risk and compliance teams tracking regulatory actions and sanctions, corporate development and M&A teams monitoring deal activity, supply chain and procurement teams watching facility openings and supplier disruptions, cybersecurity teams tracking incident disclosures, commercial real estate and market intelligence analysts, and AI agent or RAG builders who need a high-recall search backend. It suits financial services, insurance, government, and enterprise research teams alike, wherever missing even a handful of relevant events carries real cost.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Open source and easy to customize and use. Really fast search Secure and has a lots of customizable options.
  • Anonymous, privacy centered search, not unlike DuckDuckGo. Built by the team that made the brave browser, which makes sense - that's a privacy centered browser! UI is well made.

Cons

  • No cons Brave search works great and search really well.
  • It's not as well known and is in beta stage so it just needs time to improve. It uses (anonymous) Google searches as a fallback when it doesn't yield good search results itself (if you enable that setting).
