About

With focused visual tools and preprocessor support, Brackets is a modern text editor that makes it easy to design in the browser. It's crafted from the ground up for web designers and front-end developers. Brackets is a lightweight, yet powerful, modern text editor. We blend visual tools into the editor so you get the right amount of help when you want it without getting in the way of your creative process. You'll enjoy writing code in Brackets. Brackets is an open-source project, supported by an active and passionate community. It's made by other web developers like you! Instead of jumping between file tabs, Brackets lets you open a window into the code you care about most. Want to work on the CSS that applies to a specific ID? Put your mouse cursor on that ID, push Command / Ctrl+E and Brackets will show you all the CSS selectors with that ID in an inline window so you can work on your code side-by-side without any popups.

About

CAWRA IDE is a Windows desktop development environment based on VSCodium, with an integrated AI extension for working with software projects. Its task orchestrator can turn a natural-language goal into dependent subtasks, run agents in parallel, and support testing and verification before presenting results. Developers can also use chat, edit and agent modes, inline code completion, multi-file editing, codebase search, and repair tools. The built-in provider panel supports Grok, OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, and local Ollama models; users supply provider credentials where required. The IDE includes GitHub workflows, remote development over SSH, and compatibility with many Visual Studio Code extensions. The Windows application is free to download after registration; charges for third-party AI services may apply.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • With the help of Brackets' live preview tool, developers can observe updates to HTML, CSS, and JavaScript in real time. Testing is sped up and front-end development made easier with this live preview capability.

Cons

  • Brackets is a good tool for web programming, although its language support might not be as extensive as that of more complete integrated development environments (IDEs). Other technologies could be more adaptable for developers who work with a variety of languages.
