About

Whether it's brainstorming with coworkers, the meeting notes you share with partners, or the project plans you're working on with customers, real-time collaboration is an essential part of how we work. And Box Notes, an online note taking app, makes it easier for teams to work together. Take meeting notes, organize business reviews, or even write a newsletter, from any device — with the security and compliance you trust from Box. Box Notes makes it easy to create meeting notes, share ideas, track status updates and plan projects together — there's no limit to your productivity. And, since every Box Note is instantly available on web, mobile or your desktop, you can access your ideas from anywhere. Live, concurrent editing lets everyone see the same Box Note and make revisions and suggestions in real-time. Plus, you can easily create new notes, access recently edited notes and bookmark favorite notes — all in one place.

About

Granite is an encrypted Markdown note-taking and knowledge management app for individuals and teams. It organizes notes with wikilinks, tags, backlinks, a graph view, daily notes, templates, and offline search, and syncs them across web, desktop, and mobile devices. Each vault has its own encryption key. The built-in MCP server lets Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and other compatible AI tools search, read, and update notes in authorized vaults, with answers that cite the source notes. Teams can co-edit shared vaults, add comments and mentions, and publish notes to the web. Business adds SSO, SCIM, audit logs, and security policies. Notes are never used to train AI. Granite offers a free one-vault plan, a Pro subscription, and per-seat Business plans.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • You can upload a ton of different file types. Content can be organize into different folders and there's a lot of app integration. Files can be specified to be available offline, which is really convenient if you may have unstable internet or going somewhere where you can't get good cell reception. Box notes have a lot of format options, checklists, bullet points, etc.
  • #1- Its the best digital note-taking tool that allows us to collaborate with the team. #2- Realtime data backup option. #3- Easy to access and save digital notes. #4- Easy to insert images in notes.

Cons

  • Using it is a little counterintuitive at first. It takes some time to get used to. Other than a slight learning curve, I can't really think of any other cons beyond just not really like the way the app looks.
  • #1- It would be more useful if its mobile application is also available.
