Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • They have amazing support and respond far quickly than big Networking conglomerates. Easy to use Interface and support for almost every type of backup.
  • You can quickly back up from a single point without looking for a wide variety of brand-independent solutions. Open to new developments, easily updated, customizable.
  • Simple product but does its job as expected. It's a bundle containing operations, backup, automation, compliance, and governance and also solving secure remote access. The price is fair. It supports legacy and cloud infrastructure. We have been using for hybrid environment without any issues. Lots of device supported. Nearly every version of devices is supported. Product support is agile and eager to solve all the problems. Intellicheck is massive. Lots of signatures and checks in the Intellicheck. It is a perfect match for our disaster recovery scenarios.
  • The price is low but the value of the product is high. Technical support is awesome. It has a vast array of integration. Even if there's no already built-in integration, technical support assists for the new device type or model. Automation is already inside the product. I like the dashboard, very simple and shows the highlist. I can assign anybody to watch over the backbox solution. There's no need for special training. It supports distributed deployment where we're deploying regional collectors to get the data. Intellichecks has lots of checks built-in coming with the product. We have lots of cases where we need to roll back or restore, Backbox built-in these tasks without any problem. Upgrades or fixes through the Backbox is simple, one click and done.

Cons

  • The logs are not always properly readable. And troubleshooting yourself is an issue. However the support team ensures that the resolution is swift and quick.
  • We did not see any serious shortcomings. The lack of documentation in the first versions has been fixed.
  • Integration with other products is not straightforward. There's no direct integration with Jira, CMDB, or ServiceNow. You need to write some coding to make this integration working. Reporting lacks. Intellicheck signatures are updated within the releases not through a real-time update. There's no real-time check-monitoring option available. The product does not have AI or ML inside. Manual tasks are somehow interesting, tasks/scripts are defined from the operational perspective, they're not APIs.
  • Main drawback, It's not a real-time product for monitoring. You should give time schedules, especially for checks and automation. There's no incident management inside the product. I can't assign a task or job to a team member. It's a problem especially for the intellichecks. I need to assign the check output for one of my team member follow-up. Notifications are somehow bulky. Reports also are very legacy look and not modern compared to other products. There are lots of intellichecks available. We need to modify some checks before running to get the best results. Siem integration is not straight forward.

Pros from Real Users

Pros

  • - Tool has great features - Easy to use - Great service from Unimus team - Core features are reliable
  • Unimus is so easy to install and configure. I add all my network devices to the console, and it backs them up every night without fail. Pretty much set it up and let it work. Cannot be beat for the cost and ease of use.
  • Easy to use - Easy to use Interface Reliable backups - Works well and keeps your settings safe Scalable - Works fine for a few devices or hundreds. Affordable - Great value for the price.
  • We love how lightweight it is, but yet feature packed. We're backing up all of our devices to Unimus and then doing another versioned backup to Github. Setup is easy, assigning of roles to users is simple. The search function is one of the primary reasons we chose Unimus, it's so easy to search across all your devices when looking for certain configs etc. Their support has been fantastic, along with adding in new and requested features very quickly. The cost is WELL worth it. Very happy we adopted it and have not looked back.
  • Great software, lots of features and does the required job very well. It is a must have for all network operators. Great time saver when the unexpected happens, and also a great time saver for making bulk changes.
  • Unimus is an excellent network backup and configuration management tool that's simple to deploy and works right out of the box. With agentless operation and support for a wide range of vendors (Cisco, MikroTik, Juniper, Ubiquiti, and more), it’s ideal for managing diverse networks. The interface is clean and intuitive, and features like automatic backups, configuration versioning, and change tracking make it incredibly useful for maintaining network stability and recovering from issues. Security features like encrypted credential storage and access controls help meet compliance needs. Unimus is lightweight, fast, and backed by excellent support. Whether you're a small IT team or managing a large infrastructure, it’s a smart, reliable choice.
  • We've been using Unimus for several years now in large corporate networks with multiple vendor equipment - this is where Unimus truly shines. Whether managing networks with 5 different devices or scaling up to 50+ devices, the peace of mind Unimus brings is invaluable. The automated daily backups have transformed our operations. No more config files scattered across shared drives or outdated documentation. Everything is centralized, versioned, and instantly accessible. What really sets Unimus apart is its seamless integration with our change management process. The "backup before change" workflow is brilliant - one API call in our rollout scripts ensures we always have a reliable rollback option. And let's be honest, not everything goes right on the first try, so having that safety net is crucial. The time savings are substantial - we're talking hours per month depending on change frequency. But it's not just about time; it's about reliability and consistency. One unexpected benefit: Unimus has become a cornerstone of our NetBox automation. Through API integration between Unimus and NetBox, we maintain real-time network documentation. No more outdated Visio diagrams - just accurate, live network state.
  • Unimus is easy to deploy, easy to use, and feature rich. We initially deployed it to take over from our legacy RANCID config backups. However, progressively we've used it for mass config updates and auditing, and I trust we'll get a lot more value from it yet. Also, the Unimus team have been really supportive and great to work with.
  • Mass configuration push, backup, change detection and alerting, single-click diff between backed-up versions or across devices, remote CLI into the device to investigate or troubleshoot. Tag-based group tasks, Slack notifications, interoperation with our NMS... Also - responsive team behind Unimus and growing number of features.
  • Unimus will literally build you a driver for anything you need. We have had a couple products built by their teams. The backups have saved us countless times. Super easy upgrade process.
