About
Grab yourself a nice audio interface. Plug in a microphone or a keyboard. Add a track, press record, and you got it. Cut, move, stretch, copy, paste, delete, align, trim, crossfade, rename, snapshot, zoom, transpose, quantize, swing, drag, drop. Import audio or MIDI from your hard drive or the Freesound database. All with unlimited undo/redo. All in the same window. Mute, solo, fader, automate, EQ, dynamics, insert, send, pre-fader, post-fader, sync, monitor, isolate. Floating point fidelity, the most flexible mixer architecture in the industry, hundreds of plugins, and external control surfaces. Ardour's core user group, people who want to record, edit, mix and master audio and MIDI projects. When you need complete control over your tools, when the limitations of other designs get in the way, when you plan to spend hours or days working on a session, Ardour is there to make things work the way you want them to.

About
AudioRoute captures whatever your Mac or Windows machine is playing (a browser stream, a Zoom or Teams call, a softsynth demo, a reference track) and gets it into your DAW or a WAV file, without aggregate devices, virtual cables, or Audio MIDI Setup.
One install gives you three capture paths: a VST3, AU, and AAX plug-in you drop onto a track in any DAW (Ableton, Logic, Pro Tools, Reaper, Cubase, Studio One, Bitwig, FL Studio); a virtual input device that appears as a standard microphone in any app that records audio (Audacity, OBS, Zoom, Discord, QuickTime); and a one-click recorder in the menu bar or system tray that captures straight to a WAV, no DAW required.
It uses OS-native capture (macOS Core Audio process taps, Windows WASAPI process loopback), so there is no kernel extension, and your speakers, audio interface, and existing routing keep working exactly as before. Built-in feedback protection stops your DAW's own output from being re-captured.
