About

The Wallet app lives right on your iPhone. It’s where you securely keep your credit and debit cards, driver’s license or state ID, transit cards, event tickets, keys, and more — all in one place. And it all works with iPhone or Apple Watch, so you can take less with you but always bring more. Wallet takes full advantage of the privacy and security built into iPhone, which is designed to protect your identity and keep what’s yours yours. When you make a purchase, Apple Pay uses a unique transaction code, so your card number is never shared with a merchant or put on Apple servers. And there’s no need to carry physical cards or touch buttons in stores. So it’s safe to say you’ll feel safer.

About

Pay friends and family with a Venmo account using money you have in Venmo, or link your bank account or debit card quickly. Send money and make purchases at approved merchants. Remember the moments you share with friends. Split dinner, send a birthday gift, or just say hello. Move money from Venmo to your bank account. We use encryption to help protect your account information and monitor your account activity to help identify unauthorized transactions. Pay family and friends with Venmo accounts using a phone number or email. If they don't have a Venmo account, they'll just need to create one. Find friends automatically by syncing your Facebook or phone contacts. When you send money using your Venmo balance, bank account, debit card or prepaid card, we waive fees so it’s free. Our standard 3% fee applies to credit cards. Receiving money and making purchases in other apps is always free.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Apple Wallet is a great platform for hosting various payment methods. The things I liked were: 1- You can host various gift cards within this wallet, this function is very important since it allows you to add any gift card such as Amazon or Google Play within this wallet, in this way every time you go to pay for some type of service or some type of product on a page, you can use that gift card as a payment method. 2- Another thing that I liked about this platform is that it allows me to view each of the orders that I have made using the Apple Wallet payment method in real time. Every time I use this payment method, that order is automatically registered within With this wallet, I can easily check the status of each order and view the delivery date. 3- Adding new debit or credit cards within this wallet is completely simple, you just have to locate the "Add to Apple Wallet" button within the web page where you access your debit card, most banks currently have available so you can add your card to Apple Wallet. 4- It is completely safe, you can place a security pin for each of the cards or payment methods registered within Apple Wallet, in this way no person can access this information if you lend them your phone, they must have the PIN.
  • Everything. It’s is absolutely brilliant and I love it so much. Thank you Apple for making this so great.

Cons

  • The negative points about this platform were: 1- Apple Wallet does not allow you to register a new debit or credit card within this wallet manually, you cannot insert a card by entering the digits of the card, its expiration date and its security code, there is no way to register cards manually, in addition, you cannot register gift cards inside this wallet manually either, everything you have to do using the add to Apple Wallet button. 2- Another negative aspect is that the payment methods and cards linked to Apple Wallet are not modifiable from the iCloud version for computers, you cannot access your iCloud account and delete payment methods registered in your wallet, you must use the mobile device required.
  • Nothing. Nothing in the slightest. That’s my honest opinion.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Using the Venmo platform has become something too common for us due to the great stability it has provided when establishing direct payments both for my employees within my company and for people outside my company. The first thing I liked about Venmo is the validation of payments, I love being able to make all kinds of payments to any Venmo account and that the money is immediately available in the account to which I sent the money, this is fantastic, there are no money restrictions on the transactions I have made for more than 2 years that I have been using it. Another thing I love about Venmo is that it provides me with a debit card, this feature is excellent since it is a digital wallet, it allows me to manage my money more easily and pay anywhere using the debit card provided by Venmo, a very secure card that is available for all accounts within the platform. I also love that Venmo allows you to send custom payments, whether it be with special messages or special emojis, this is fantastic because it allows me to send much more interactive payments, not just simple payments, but special payments with special messages. Venmo has also provided me with a nice transfer of assets to or from my bank account, I love that I can link my bank account on this platform and make withdrawals from my bank and have the money available in minutes in my wallet, I like this because there are digital wallet platforms similar to Venmo that do not provide this fast deposit processing.
  • It makes splitting the cost of items seamless, removes the need to carry cash, and helps small businesses sell their products without the hefty fees of competitors.
  • You don't have to carry cash around anymore to pay people. Venmo makes it easy things like restaurant checks with friends.
  • Venmo is the easiest way to borrow and share money with friends and family. I am able to make transactions easily and freely knowing that my money is secure.
  • It's easy to manage trips and activities with friends. One person can book seats together or get the check at a restaurant and then split up the bill later. We use Venmo to manage dozens of different expenses that come up whenever I take a trip with a group.

Cons

  • The main criticism I have regarding Venmo is regarding the user support service within this digital wallet, this support team is not so efficient and that causes users to be unable to resolve the constant concerns they have within the platform. On several occasions I have had some doubts about the payments made and received, and the support team has taken up to more than 2 days to correctly respond to my request, this is something very shocking for me, since I consider that being a wallet platform, they should offer much faster user support and in a shorter response time. Another thing I must criticize is regarding the login system, they have too robust security and this causes me to be unable to access my wallet at any time, I have tried to access my account from a new device and I have completed the two-step verification but it has not let me enter due to a suspicious login. I would like to be able to access my account on a daily basis without any problems, I do not like the robust security system that Venmo is using.
  • If you accidentally select the wrong recipient, there is no way to revoke your payment. I understand the need for this to prevent scams, but their search feature for people does make it easy to accidentally select the wrong person.
  • Venmo is now charging businesses a fee if money is sent to them from clients. There is also a limit of how much money you can send each month.
  • The charges for moving money to the bank instantly can be inconvenient, but I understand.
  • There's no reason for a money transfer app to have many different social features. It seems obtrusive and unnecessary to have a wall to see how friends are sending money back and forth. The ease of use to move money back and forth is enough, it doesn't need to be Facebook.
