Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros Reliable database. Highly available. Supports a variety of db - My, Postgre, Maria, Oracle, Ms. Works great with Amazon Aurora. Great security policies. Available as a part of free tier (750 hours per month usage). Amazon RDS is a relational database service. It is a part of AWS Stack and integrates well with other services.It is a reliable and powerful service with a lot of configuration options for advanced users. It is a part of free tier which allows limited free usage for first year. Easy to set up with minimal configuration. Managed service. Multi zone presence leads to high availability. Scalable based on demand. Automated patching and backups. CloudWatch integration - Better monitoring. Cons Initial setup and data migration is complex - the process should be streamlined for new users. Expensive. It is easy to use once setup But the setup itself is a bit complicated and not beginner friendly. Also pricing scales pretty quickly for db intensive operations like frequent updation. Limited for advanced users as no direct access to underlying server.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros We have been using Windocks for a number of years now. We currently are using 5 Windocks hosts and 40+ containers. To have access to a functional SQL server, for development or trouble-shooting production issues, in minutes is invaluable. Very reliable deliver of SQL Server database environments with cloned databased. Excellent and timely support. - concept of "database containers" to isolate enable each dev and test to work in their own writable environments - easy application of access controls so devs only access their designated environments - database cloning to minimize disk space associated with instances - familiar docker commands to environments to be updated frequently and automatically Cons I can't think of anything negative to say about Windocks. The installation is extremely easy. The upgrades are timely and useful. We have asked a lot from them feature-wise over the years and they never fail to come through. Required a DevOps mindset to adopted but more than worth it at the end. - cultural change to automate what used to be manually done by our DBA. Had to sell this internally to the team, but it was totally worth it in the end. - some initial time needed to set this up just right to automate what we wanted. Once set up, it just runs flawlessly.
