About

Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale a relational database in the cloud. It provides cost-efficient and resizable capacity while automating time-consuming administration tasks such as hardware provisioning, database setup, patching and backups. It frees you to focus on your applications so you can give them the fast performance, high availability, security and compatibility they need. Amazon RDS is available on several database instance types - optimized for memory, performance or I/O - and provides you with six familiar database engines to choose from, including Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle Database, and SQL Server. You can use the AWS Database Migration Service to easily migrate or replicate your existing databases to Amazon RDS.

About

Tibero is a relational model-based standard DBMS that has been developed with stable architecture that requires minimal resources from the design step. It allows to efficiently respond to big data processing requests from massive sessions. In addition, it provides a flexible and user-friendly development and easy operating environment based on standards and compatibility. - Multi-Process, multi-thread architecture and various data processing technologies, which support reliable and effective resource management and rapidly process multi-user requests. 1. Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Reliable database. Highly available. Supports a variety of db - My, Postgre, Maria, Oracle, Ms. Works great with Amazon Aurora. Great security policies. Available as a part of free tier (750 hours per month usage).
  • Amazon RDS is a relational database service. It is a part of AWS Stack and integrates well with other services. It is a reliable and powerful service with a lot of configuration options for advanced users. It is a part of free tier which allows limited free usage for first year.
  • Easy to set up with minimal configuration. Managed service. Multi zone presence leads to high availability. Scalable based on demand. Automated patching and backups. CloudWatch integration - Better monitoring.

Cons

  • Initial setup and data migration is complex - the process should be streamlined for new users. Expensive.
  • It is easy to use once setup But the setup itself is a bit complicated and not beginner friendly. Also pricing scales pretty quickly for db intensive operations like frequent updation.
  • Limited for advanced users as no direct access to underlying server.

Pros & Cons from Real Users

Pros

  • Compared to Oracle DB, the customer's IT manager at a lower purchase and maintenance cost. You can feel the cost reduction effect while introducing it. It can be used including maintenance cost as a subscription without S/W purchase.

Cons

  • Lack of reference materials and technical manpower compared to Oracle DB. Large database performance of 70~80% compared to Oracle In the case of large-scale projects, Samsung Electronics proceeded with unit system conversion.
