Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros The product has plenty of external databases you can link it to and update periodically which gives you access to a wide variety of funds and information. Also a great tool for keeping up with current and prospective funds, and great for using to pulls stats and metrics into excel. Locally installed application makes it very responsive. The software is intuitive and easy to learn and use. Provides an Excel plugin and an API to retrieve data. Provides several ways to import and manage data from internal and external sources. Highly reliable and accurate. Enhanced Functionality: The alternative tool offers a wider range of features that cater to diverse user needs, providing a more comprehensive solution compared to other tools. This includes advanced analytics, customization options, and integration with other essential software. AlternativeSoft is an outstanding investment management software that has significantly streamlined our portfolio management processes. Ability to go fund by fund and adjust projected returns and have it recalibrate. Cons Can get a bit disorganized if you do not stay on top of updating funds, end up with a bunch of dead / old assets in the system. The design and color scheme can use a refresh. Integration Challenges: The alternative tool may pose integration challenges with existing systems and workflows. This could require additional time and resources to ensure compatibility and seamless operation, potentially causing temporary disruptions during the transition period. While AlternativeSoft offers robust features and excellent analytics, the initial setup process can be complex and time-consuming. Additionally, some advanced functionalities could benefit from more detailed documentation. Enhancing the user interface for greater intuitiveness would also improve the overall user experience. Despite these areas for improvement, it's still a valuable tool. No connectivity with data platforms (ex Addepar) making a manual upload process which can be finicky.	Pros & Cons from Real Users Pros We have been very happy users for many years using the PackHedge tool to select the funds appropriate for our portfolios with defined risk targets. The portfolio accounting covers every requirement and we have customized internal and client reports in accordance with our needs. We like the stress testing, scenario analysis and other research tools. We also use it as an effective marketing tool. Powerful software which can be used for a broad range of multi-asset portfolio management, fund database, transaction reconciliation, shadow accounting and investment analysis. It's functional off-the-shelf and doesn't require complex implementations, but also has extensive customizations, query and reporting options which enable to model any asset, combine and extract data on an individual or consolidated basis and create all kinds of portfolios and trading simulations. The software can integrate with different fund databases and data sources, and it can be used locally with audit trail and user rights. Very easy to customize to our needs with custom fields, custom time series, custom windows, custom instruments, custom categories, custom reports, etc. The data management functionalities are way ahead of other solutions. The portfolio management and shadow accounting functionalities for mixed assets, together with the workflow tools, the rules & alarms, the contribution analysis by segment, the risk analytics, the stress testing, the due diligence and the powerful reporting, cover all our needs and more. Cons It provides a lot of in depth functionalities and requires time to make the best use of this tool. However, the training and client support help enormously! The most advanced reporting features require designing reports in Jasper. Modelling derivatives and mortgages can be complex. With such a rich range of functionalities, it does require time to learn how to make the best use of PackHedge™.
