Pros & Cons from Real Users

- You need a Creative Cloud subscription for a lot of the features and retouching images is a bit of a challenge trying to do it with your fingers instead of a mouse and keyboard like the desktop version.
- Purchasing was unclear. Not sure how this fits in if you already use photoshop.
- - The subscription of the software is quite high. - The masking feature of the software is buggy and not optimized well on the smartphone version of the application.

Pros & Cons from Real Users
Pros
- * The workspaces that Lightroom offers are handled very well since they are prepared for each occasion, in the same way several workspaces can be set up depending on the needs of each user, this is a great advantage since I can quickly select the configuration of the tools I want to use depending on the type of correction I want to do, optimizing my workflow by not having so many windows open. * All my work is synchronized within the same space that is the Creative Cloud which gives me the possibility of having all my photographs available in any Adobe product on any platform where my account is linked. Also, working collaboratively has been a huge advantage for me and my team when we're on a big project and different parties use different Adobe suite programs, so when I do color grading someone else could do the editing with Photoshop and so on, all in one shared workspace. * I can save different color formats as if it were a filter, I can also create custom filters in case you want to apply them to a photo album. In the event that the photos are burned by the use of the filter, since not all the images have the same color, tonality, and contrast, I only have to adjust the parameters that are most convenient for me depending on the results I want to achieve. So, for lack of freedom there is no within Lightroom as it allows me to edit the photos to my liking and also save the settings to use later. * The interface is very comfortable to use, if it is true that it requires knowledge and experience to be able to use this software correctly since not everyone has the knowledge to correctly carry out color corrections and that the photographs have a pleasant theme depending on the occasion. But once you know how most of Lightroom's functions work, then it will be a piece of cake to be able to use this powerful tool, also, as I mentioned before, the workspace can be adapted to each user depending on the editing needs, so the time of Your learning of this platform will get shorter as you gradually use the tools and add each tool to the workspace in turn so that it can be less overwhelming to use Lightroom.
- + I like the professional management that you have with the photographs in RAW format, it is essential for photography, it is that they are removed from the properties since it can be given a more professional retouching in terms of color, lighting or any other retouching that photography requires When adjusting the values of the images in this format. I generally only take photos in this format as I can have more detailed and better lit photos to be able to post them on my company's website or on the different social channels that currently exist. So with the handling of this format within Lightroom it was easier for me to manage the editing of each photograph taken, I can also apply templates to photographs with the same tone without losing quality or oversaturating them, but in case this happens all the pain can be modify though Start a template similar to the other. + Since it is an Adobe product, I can integrate Lightroom with any other product without any compatibility problem. So, if I need to make modifications to the photographs or perform retouching, I can simply include the photograph within Photoshop or If I want to implement a vector, I can use Illustrator so that the vectors have a high definition within the images and do not lose quality when transferring an image from one platform to another since this happens a lot when you use the edited images from Lightroom other image editing platforms. Thanks also to this integration, I was able to more easily manage the images to be able to share them within the Adobe cloud without the need to use platforms that store files in the cloud, but simply once the photo to be saved is edited, everything automatically goes to the Adobe cloud. adobe. + I liked that this platform has simply chosen the dark theme as the default theme. I am very useful to only focus on the colors of the image and not have a white glow that affects the view since it is very tiring to spend time editing images with a white light. On the other hand, it is much more practical that everything is dark and you can only see mostly the colors of a photograph thus being able to have better results since I can see the colors clearly. + You can customize the entire interface or a large part of it to be able to put the different tools and add only the most used by any user, you can also create some type of workspace or profiles depending on which photograph is going to be edited or What work is going to be within adobe Lightroom.
- º One color can be replaced by another, including its intensity. This is useful and practical since I don't have to do it manually to be able to replace a color. In addition, that the shadows or lighting that this color to replace is present in a large part of the photo, this software will simply change it to the one I want without losing quality, without over-saturating, as if it were changing the color of the light bulb , leaving everything more naturally. º I can have editing templates to be able to pass all the configuration that I have made to an image and transfer it to another. This is useful for me when I have an image in similar color tones and I want to apply the same effect that I applied to images with the same or similar characteristics and thus be able to make the job easier. º I like the feature of being able to create colors from the color toning mixture where with three simple color palettes this action can be carried out. It is very simple and more practical to be able to do it this way, since with a simple movement of the mouse, which is passing over the color palettes, I can create my own colors without having to use the old way of looking for a color, but instead I can vary and have a more vivid and natural color. º It is practical to be able to work within the .raw format and not from the classic .jpg or .png formats. This gives me more freedom when editing the images and they are not too saturated or too opaque, but I can choose the intensity of each color that is inside the image without losing quality as it happens in the other formats of image. º Video editing fascinates me and is completely useful, not only have I been able to give color touch-ups to my photographs, but I have also been able to make color corrections to the videos for my social networks. This was practical for me since I did not have to resort to third-party editors that practically add a filter to the edition and do not make color corrections as this software does, which also can apply corrections at specific points.
- I am no professional photographer, but I do enjoy photos that are good quality and have the right editing touches to the color and objects in the photo. Lightroom is a great software that professionals can use to create the most beautiful photos, but also people like me can use it to edit my photos to look better.
- - Images can be imported and edited with just few steps. - It has an auto fix features with automatically tunes the image and fix it instantly. - Presets can be made easily within the application and can be saved for future use, also, present can also be imported from other users. - The user interface of the application is simple and easy to use, even for beginners and casual users. - It is available on all the platforms.
Cons
- * It requires very powerful equipment that allows the correct handling of this software, it is not easy for any desktop computer to have adequate performance when making color corrections to feel Lightroom. This is a basic recommendation for anyone who wants to try this software for the first time, even more so knowing that you will be editing images with a high resolution that requires expert teams that can handle everything with ease in each change that is going to be made to an image or photograph. * I understand that mobile phones have low power processors, but currently have great performance that are capable of running almost heavy programs, but apparently Adobe is not interested in updating Lightroom for devices more than it currently is. I say this because the mobile version is very limited you can see the contrast between the desktop and Mac version versus the mobile version. The adjustments that can be made within the mobile application are very limited and if you want to have a more detailed control of the colors or completely change colors of a certain color, you simply have to use the desktop version because currently the version for mobile devices does not have with that feature. That and many more features make Lightroom for mobile less efficient for photo or image editing. * It can become expensive if you do not work frequently with Lightroom since it has a subscription charge which, depending on whether it is annual or monthly, may or may not be beneficial for the end user. In addition, there are no free trials that allow you to practice with this software since at first impressions it has many functions that can be overwhelming and not easy to understand, so extensive knowledge is required to really take advantage of this software. From what I do know, if you are an advanced user like me who works in the marketing sector, the subscription may not be a problem, in case you are just starting out, it may be expensive to understand and practice with Lightroom before finally taking advantage of it.
- - It has a Premium system that is not pleasant for individuals or small businesses, since if the work done within this platform does not meet the monthly cost of using Lightroom, then it may not be so profitable in the long term. I liked this application better when you could only pay permanently or with an unlimited time license, but apparently it is not very profitable for the Adobe team So you have to calculate the return on investment and see if it is profitable or not I will be able to use this platform with a monthly or annual subscription. - High experience is required for the use and professional management of this photo editing software, since its tools are very complicated to use and it may not be possible for all the photographs to be as expected by the user if they do not have editing knowledge of photography. Also, adapting to where each tool is located is a bit complex, it takes me a while to learn how to handle all the lightroom features - It requires equipment with high power for the proper handling of this software since it may not run correctly or when editing it slows down every time you want to configure something of an image regardless of size. So you have to consider the equipment that you are currently updating to see if it meets the necessary characteristics to run this image editing software. I recommend i5 up and if it's from the latest Intel generation, better since everything will flow and you don't work at the moment to edit the image. I also recommend a considerable amount of RAM from 8 or 16 onwards so you can edit images from any size without any problem or limitation when adding each layer. - The Android version is very limited with respect to improving the quality of the colors of a photograph, if you want to remove a section of a specific color it is not possible and I would have to work from my computer to be able to select the area of colors to edit or replace. I would like all the features that Adobe Lightroom has to be available on both Android and iOS, or at least the vast majority, since I feel that editing on mobile devices is very limited and does not provide the same quality as doing it on the desktop. The same templates used within the desktop are not used either because that feature is not available. So if I have a predefined template for a certain type of photography I cannot use it Unless it goes to the desktop, wasting time and limiting the portability that the desktop should offer. mobile application regardless of the device or operating system used.
- º It bothers me that the service provided by this software is a subscription service, this was not the case before and now practically more is spent than was proposed. Before you had a work plan when you purchased this product for a lifetime plan, now you have to pay a subscription and that is sometimes a bit tedious for people who are not so much involved in photo editing, but who do retouching photographs casually. º Lack of optimization of resources on Mac, I have tried Adobe Lightroom on devices similar to my Mac, but with Windows operating system and the change between these two operating systems has been noticed. I would like them to improve that aspect so that I don't have to change OS since for me it is more comfortable to use Apple products because of the great feedback they have between them, thus allowing me to transfer photos more quickly from my phone to my Mac and thus start Edit. º Lightroom for mobile devices falls short next to the versions for Mac and Windows. I don't understand if the current power of mobile phones is so great and even so they have to cut back on so many features, so much so that it seems to be a simple image editor. I would like it to be more complete and practical to be able to edit photos with Lightroom within my mobile devices without having to sit inside the PC so that I can have more practicality when it comes to having my photos edited instantly after I have taken them. º Its interface design can be compacted to the point that it looks like a simple image color editor, this helps a lot for beginners who want to try this platform for the first time. But when it comes to putting a more complete and professional template, everything gets complicated there because certain features that this interface template for professionals brings are not explained very well. I know that using the basic form is fine to get started and edit faster, but if I want to use certain features I have to activate the professional mode to have practically all the included features that I need. This leads me to the fact that they should create video tutorials in a corner of each functionality that allows explaining each of its uses through examples. º I would like it not to be so heavy or consume so many computer resources. This would be optimal since I currently have to close certain applications or stop doing certain tasks to be able to use the full power of my computer. the performance of the computer is not affected by Lightroom just by running it.
- It is a very complex software, so I would suggest taking an online course or watching videos on how to use the software. If you don't, you will miss out on many features.
- - There are a lot of features and using them can be a little overwhelming and complex for beginners. - There is no guide available to use the features in the application.
