About
Ableton Note is a playable mobile app for sketching musical ideas anywhere, experimenting with sounds, capturing improvisations, and sampling the environment. Users can start with drum kits, melodic instruments, synth sounds, or their own recordings, then develop ideas by creating beats, melodies, chord progressions, and variations. Note includes a 16-pad percussion grid, a 25-pad melodic grid, piano roll, MIDI editing, quantization, note nudging, velocity changes, transposition, and external MIDI support over USB or Bluetooth. Capture MIDI lets musicians keep something they just played without pressing record first: Note detects the tempo and length and automatically turns the performance into a loop. Users can record sounds through their device microphone into Drum Sampler or Melodic Sampler, then cut, filter, repitch, and process samples with effects.

About
SoundCraft is an open-source digital audio workstation for recording, editing, arranging and mixing audio. Its Edit window supports multitrack arrangement, playlists, comping, fades and tempo maps; the Mix window provides channel strips, buses, sends, automation and plugins. Users can record audio and MIDI, edit MIDI in piano-roll and score views, import common audio formats, and bounce mixes or stems. CLAP, VST3 and Audio Unit plugins are supported, and a CLI, JSON control channel and MCP server expose commands for scripts and AI agents. Native releases are available for macOS, Windows and Linux; FreeBSD and a browser-based WebAssembly build are also documented. It is aimed at audio engineers, musicians, producers and developers working on music, recording, mixing, soundtracks or other multitrack audio. SoundCraft is currently labeled pre-alpha, with development ongoing.
