ARVIS (Augmented Reality Visualization and Information System) is a wearable, self-contained surgical guidance system designed to assist orthopedic surgeons during total hip, total knee, and unicompartmental knee arthroplasty procedures. By utilizing cameras mounted at the surgeon's viewpoint, ARVIS tracks reusable markers on the patient to provide accurate, real-time, hands-free navigation guidance directly at the point of care. This system eliminates the need for pre-operative imaging, streamlining the surgical process and reducing costs compared to traditional robotic systems. The proprietary augmented reality eyepiece combines stereo infrared tracking cameras with a 3D AR display, all powered by a high-performance mobile processor, allowing surgeons to maintain focus on the patient without diverting attention to external monitors. Operated through hands-free gaze and voice controls, ARVIS minimizes line-of-sight issues and integrates seamlessly into the surgical workflow.

About

PyGaze offers a platform that is more user-friendly than the currently existing alternatives, when it comes to creating complicated experiments (or other software). From stimulus presentation to eye-tracker communication: everything can be handled by via PyGaze scripting. Of course, we do rely heavily on all the brilliant dependencies (see the links in the first paragraph) and you could do pretty much the same if you were to use each of these independently, but this would require more programming skills and would cost more effort and time than when you would use PyGaze. Apart from this, PyGaze does come with some added functionality. For example, we provide an implementation of a saccade detection algorithm that was specifically designed for online detection (for details, please refer to our paper).
