Zigbee2MQTT

Zigbee2MQTT is an open-source bridge that lets users operate Zigbee devices without relying on proprietary vendor gateways. It connects compatible Zigbee adapters to devices and translates their events and controls into MQTT messages. This makes Zigbee hardware usable with a wide range of home automation platforms rather than tying it to one ecosystem. The project maintains device state locally and provides web interfaces for monitoring and configuration. Its architecture combines zigbee-herdsman for radio communication with device converters that map individual hardware models to Zigbee capabilities. It supports an extensive device catalog and integrates with platforms such as Home Assistant, Homey, Domoticz, Gladys Assistant, and ioBroker.
