       ZBMetaSave v1
----------------------------

This utility saves Canon Zoombrowser EX's keywords, comments and ratings (from ZB4Meta.Info file) to the files EXIF and XMP, so it can be readable in Windows, Lightroom, etc.

- Why?

Because... I used to use ZoomBrowser EX to manage my photos, and since I switched to Lightroom, I had to keep going from one App to another to find my files, cause Lightroom doesn't read Canon's database file ZB4Meta.Info.
I really don't like proprietary formats anyway!

- How?

Just open the ZB4Meta.Info file in ZBMetaSave (double-click it or right-click it and click in "Open With..." and choose this software as open the file.
Inside ZBMetaSave, just click Save Metadata and all files referenced by Canon's file will be updated with the information from ZoomBrowser.

You can also choose which file types will be processed.
This way you can both control which files are updated and also, update files not referenced in ZB4Meta.Info, in the following scenario:
You have your JPG files tagged in ZoomBrowser, but now you want your RAW files (which didn't have any keywords) updated as well.
So if you choose ".cr2" from the dropdown box, the files updated will be your raw files, even if ZB4Meta.Info only has JPG's in it...

One more thing. You can, if you wish, export your metadata to XMP sidecar files, leaving you original files alone and untouched!

- Legal stuff!

As usual, use this application at your own risk.
I recommend making backups before using this (I recommend making backups anyway, anyhow, anytime).
The only warranty I can give you is that I use it in my own photo collection (a rather large collection I must add).
It is free to use, both personally and commercially, and if you like it, just drop me a line or two! :)
