xubuntu base for the raspberry pi3 with just the xfce desktop no apps no browser
has the ubuntu GUI to set up keyboard language and wifi
from there you use apt-get and install what you want
this is for special use
if you need a complete image down load an official version
but if you need the minimum and build it as you want
this is for you with a low memory footprint

sudo apt-get install xfce4-goodies
sudo apt-get install xarchiver
Features
- very stripped down to just the desktop so its easy to make it exactly how you want it
- you must feel comfortable installing what you need with apt-get
- you need a clean install for development work
- you must have the latest packages that are not part of raspbian yet
- the smaller download and smaller memory footprintis what you need to have xubutu on your rpi3
- no preinstalled browser that slows things down
- dont complain if something is so called missing just install it with apt-get
