I think XU4 is a great project, and definite kudos have to go out to everyone involved for putting it all together. Lots of new features and options have been added that are sure to appeal to many players. It has a lofty goal and has nearly reached that. However, the key word is 'nearly'. It is simply not finished, and does not offer an authentic Ultima IV experience. It is similar, but not the same. There are only a few small points which still differ from the original experience, but until those are fixed I would recommend running Ultima IV from dosbox. There is still a lot of potential, but until it can give a player a true, original experience, alongside new features for convenience, speed, ease etc., it is sadly incomplete.
