Ha, has been looking for some modernized alternative to Greybird, but it's quite hard to find something without bells && whistles. Hope it would be not abandoned.

Great theme. I am doing a FreeBSD port for it.

I am not fond of XFCE, however you can run some application with XFCE which are light but efficient, however a little bit vintage. Some Puppy Linux have XFCE as default Desktop, and people like it. I give my opinion, but test it yourself. And feed back.
