X-editable is a JavaScript library for adding in-place editing to web interfaces using Bootstrap, jQuery UI, or pure jQuery. It lets users edit displayed values without navigating to a separate form or screen. Editors can appear inline or inside configurable popups. The library supports text, textarea, select, date, checklist, HTML5, Select2, typeahead, and other input types. It includes client-side and server-side validation, keyboard controls, live events, and configurable activation behavior. The project is now deprecated and no longer receives updates or support.
