  The Souls In Purgatory IX (Revival) scripture of Salem, The Witch City Linux
  Desktop Environment, was released during the Witching Hour on Tuesday morning,
  June 02, 2026.

  This is the 21st release from the "Souls In Purgatory (Revival)" branch.
  With this release, we remodeled the wcl-salem_vd scripture and renamed it
  "wcl-salem_vodou."

  Wallpapers for WCL-XDM must be installed separately (see wcl-xdm directory for
  builds, packages, and sources of the wcl-xdm_wallpapers). The basic XDM screen
  w/o images should serve satisfactorily, though.

  To install Salem, extract the download file (tar -I zstd -xvf salem.tar.zst),
  enter the WCL folder, and run the "possess" script. To remove it, run the
  "exorcise" script.  Swine to cast daemons into is not included.

  Arch Linux Package Available!  Download it from Salem/pkg. Install it using
  pacman: $ sudo pacman -U Salem-Souls_In_Purgatory_IX_Revival-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

  Or, "build" (a bit of a stretch) it yourself and install it with the salembuild
  tarball.
