[!WARNING] Unofficial domain notice: I do not own or operate
winslop.comand I'm not affiliated with whoever registered it. Even if it currently redirects to this GitHub repo, a third-party domain can be changed at any time (phishing, fake releases, malware links). My only official pages are on GitHub:github.com/builtbybel/(repo + releases). Download Winslop only from GitHub Releases.
Lets show Microsoft their AI overhead is too much. Goal: in 30 days, more Winslop downloads than Copilot has users 😆 Because honestly, nobody cares about Copilot. And I genuinely dont get why you'd ruin a nice OS like this, instead of listening to users and the people who made Microsoft successful in the first place, devs.
Mr. Nadella, you were right, I did need AI. This artwork was generated by AI. Plot twist: I used the competition. Copilot tried. Copilot was invited. Copilot was… uninstalled
Changelog
- First full release featuring all core functionality ported from the old C codebase, now 100% migrated to C#
-
Major docs upgrade: Extensive documentation for individual app features and plugins. I moved the native in-code help from the classes into new GitHub docs. Every feature now supports Right-click > Help, which opens the matching GitHub section via a URL anchor
[!TIP] You can also open the help anytime via the main menu (hamburger menu) → Help.
-
Improved restore for individually selected features
- The app is now a bit smaller, and im still working on slimming it down even more. Ideally, I'd love to externalize as much as possible , minimalism is the goal
- Safer execution flow: Main actions (Inspect/Apply) are now disabled while a task is running, so you cant accidentally click them mid-run
- More Win95 polish: Refined the classic look again and cleaned up lots of small UI corners and spacing
- Better Extensions view (clearer + more consistent)
- Online Log Inspector updated with a proper Windows 95 look
[!TIP] Log Inspector: Use Actions → Log Inspector to review logs in a structured, readable view.
- Misc improvements & bug fixes
