Webkosa is simple to install on your Linux server. Webkosa allows you to specify the IP address and port for all services (http, smtp, ftp, etc.) so it can co-exist with other services on the host machine. To install, all you need to do, as root, is: 1. Untar the archive. It will create a sub-directory called webx. 2. cd webx and then run ./webx-install This will install the Webkosa server and the object-oriented database and anything else you need inside the webx hierarchy. The Webkosa server only has access to that hierarchy. You will be asked some preliminary information, such as the IP address and hostname/domain for the server and then the server will be started up for you. The rest of the setup (simple color settings, permissions, sysop password, etc.) will be via your web browser. Note that the version released as of this date is the vanilla Webkosa server. Later we will release themes and plugins. Nevertheless, it is a complete working server, with full support for forums with post-by-email, access lists and unlimited server-side scripting of the object oriented database. Enjoy!
