All CacheGuard products are based on a common Operating System called CacheGuard-OS. Once installed on a machine (Virtual or Hardware), CacheGuard-OS transforms that machine into a powerful, functional and easy to handle network Appliance.
CacheGuard-OS is based on a customized LFS (Linux From Scratch) OS and embeds well-known Open Source technologies and specific Open Source codes developed by CacheGuard Technologies Ltd. Specific codes and mainly written in bash and allow all embedded technologies to work seamlessly and consistently together as a network appliance. CacheGuard appliances can be configured using a CLI or a Web Browser.
To install CacheGuard-OS you need a dedicated machine. Here you can find CacheGuard-OS installation CDROM for x64 based machines. You can download installation CDROM for both x64 and x86 based machines from https://www.cacheguard.com/download/. To download and already installed CacheGuard appliance free edition please refer to https://www.cacheguard.com/download/. Pre installed appliances are in OVA (Open Virtual Appliance) format and can be easily imported to compatible virtualization systems such as VMware.
If you have already a running CacheGuard appliance you can upgrade to the latest version by applying patches. Refer to the http://www.cacheguard.net/cacheguard-patch.html page to download patches.
