The VowelCat software is the result of a group of scholars at Ohio University who sought a solution for visualizing speech in real time. The program allows users to visualize their speech on a vowel formant map. Results can be recorded for later reference. This tool can aid singers, actors, language learners and those with a variety of speech disorders.

  • I had been looking for a piece of software like this for ages. I use it to help with foreign language pronunciation. Actually being able to, effectively, see where my tongue is, is so incredibly helpful. Excellent job! Kudos to the creator(s)!
