Odyssey Classic was finally retired in 2012 after nearly a decade of running as the absolute gold standard of Odyssey servers.
The source code for the project was released back to the community in hopes that one day a successor will arise from an aspiring developer who understands the game similar to how the Classic branch itself was born.

The Source code can be downloaded here http://odysseyclassic.com/ but in case the code ever disappears I have archived it here on Sourceforge .

The Sandbox http://odysseyclassic.com/?page_id=81

Note I have not uploaded this version since I am trying to only upload the source code for the games if there is enough space later I will upload it for now if you want
it get it from there site.

The Sandbox is a version of Odyssey that is already compiled and ready to run on your computer. This version is meant for those who do not want to download Visual Basic or mess with compiling the source code. It is already ready to run with everything you need to play. You MUST run the server first (from the Start Menu) or your Odyssey client will have nothing to connect to and you will get a connection error.

Click to download the Sandbox Installer (Sandbox.exe, 15MB)
Click to download the Sandbox zip file (Sandbox.zip, 17MB)

The Sandbox contains a version of the Odyssey Classic main server that anyone who has played Classic will instantly recognize. Scripts are now also included as of version 2.0!

You may create a new account and log in then god yourself from the server console by clicking the “Add InGame God” button. Or alternatively, you may proceed as a normal player.

Multiplayer support is now included in version 2.0. To use this you get your friend’s IP address and choose the new menu option to change the IP you are connecting to. To allow others to connect to you it is necessary to allow connections through port 5750. If you are behind a router you need to set up port forwarding in your router (google instructions on how to set up port forwarding for the router you have, it is different for each router).

Some available god commands:
/god editmap
/god editmonster
/god editobject
/god editnpc
/god nextmap, /god prevmap
/god warp Map X Y
/god setmysprite #
/god setmystatus #

You will move very quickly as a god automatically. To override this and move at normal speed, hold the Alt key.
