Seshat was the goddess of writing and astronomy. As a female equivalent to Thoth or Djehuty, she was often viewed as his consort or wife. Seshat handled many of the same domains as Djehuty, but Djehuty was seen as the living word itself while Seshat was a scribe or servant of the word, but this in no mean makes her any less important. She is a goddess of Librarians and those who seek truth and knowledge in a good book.
