Pictures painted on 3D objects can now be translated — signs, posters and screens standing in the world, not only flat interface images. The rest of this version is about the game no longer stopping while the mod works.
Images
New features
- Pictures on 3D objects. A poster on a wall, an advertisement on a bus shelter, a screen in a room: their textures can now be inspected, exported and replaced, exactly like flat interface images. A rule is keyed on the texture's name, so translating a poster once changes it everywhere it appears.
- Objects carrying several pictures. A lit sign paints its artwork on more than one slot. The inspector now shows them as thumbnails and you choose by seeing the picture, not by reading a slot name. Hidden for the ordinary object with a single picture.
- The picture is shown before you act on it. A rule reaches every object sharing that texture, so acting on the wrong one is not a local mistake. Exporting also says, now, that it registered the replacement rule.
Enhancements
- Pointing selects what you aim at. Picking follows the line of sight: what is behind a wall stays unreachable, an object without a collision volume is reachable again, and a room no longer wins every pick against the furniture inside it. Standing close to a large object still draws its marker.
- A picked object is easier to see. A 3D object is framed by the twelve edges of its volume over a translucent wash, readable whatever is behind it.
- Picking costs far less. It used to walk every object in the scene on every movement of the pointer — a third of a second each time on a large map.
Bug fixes
- Image replacement could be switched off and never back on again, silently: turning it on applied nothing.
- Switching image replacement on froze the game for about a second.
- Exporting failed on some textures the inspector had just named and measured, with no reason given.
- Objects wrapped in an invisible collision volume could not be picked at all, or answered with the whole building instead of the object.
- Objects could be picked with the pointer outside the game window.
Performance
Enhancements
- Applying settings no longer stops the game. A shortcut, a proxy, an update rhythm or a translator setting redraws nothing: only a setting a text actually shows does. On a large game, that pass was measured at about seven tenths of a second.
- A redraw that does have to happen is spread over several frames instead of one long one, at a pace taken from the game's own.
- Changing several fonts at once is one pass and one save, instead of one of each per font.
- After each batch of translations, only the text that changed is rebuilt. A game with six thousand texts froze for three seconds after every batch.
- The scan for variables no longer freezes the game: it spreads over frames, reports as it goes, and is called off when you close the window.
- Saving settings no longer re-derives the key that protects your keys and tokens — it is worked out once.
Translation Tools
Enhancements
- Cancel is offered only when there is something to cancel. With nothing waiting, the button beside it reads "Close" and does exactly the same thing — two buttons, one outcome. It comes back as soon as a setting is changed, next to "Apply (N)".
- And Cancel now undoes when you press it, rather than leaving your answers to be dropped the next time the screen opens. The cross in the title bar does the same: nothing is ever written without Apply, so both ways out abandon what is waiting.
- The Scan button says it is working, and becomes Cancel while a scan runs.
- Enter in the Scan, Find and game-search boxes does what the button beside it does.
- The game's own line on the Failures tab can be selected and copied, so a placeholder can be taken out of it.
- "Replace with Remote" says it is downloading instead of staying silent until the window shuts.
- The setup wizard says it is waiting while it tests a Google or DeepL key, or asks a server for its models.
Bug fixes
- Searching for a value now matches whatever the case. A search for "kyle" on a game storing "Kyle" reported nothing found.
- The scan for variables read one object per type and only looked inside one assembly, so on many games it found nothing at all. It now looks everywhere, and nothing is dropped in silence.
- Retranslate on the Failures tab wrote its answer straight into the file instead of proposing it, and a proposal that wrote nothing still removed the line from the list.
- A line saved earlier with a placeholder missing was not flagged when you came back to check it.
- The setup wizard, reopened on a game already set up, came back on Google Translate over a configured AI server — and would have saved that.
- Translation Tools could open over the whole screen at launch with the mod dead behind it.
Account and sync
New features
- A translation you have never published is now offered in the corner notification. Until now nothing reminded you: the invitation existed only on the main panel, behind a shortcut. A fork that is still identical to what it came from says nothing, and offline says nothing at all.
- A translation you started from somebody else's now says so. Nothing on screen said where it came from until you published it, so the credit only ever appeared once the website was already showing it. The status card carries it now, and names the author when you are online.
Enhancements
- An AI server address written as "localhost" is read as 127.0.0.1 — one spelling for one machine, so the Manager stops reporting a difference that is not one.
Interface
New features
- An About tab, last in Settings: the version you are running, the licence, the three programs of the ecosystem and where to find them, and what the mod is built on. It also says plainly that nothing about you is collected, and that the website is only contacted while Online Mode is on.
Enhancements
- A turning mark says when the mod is waiting on something — signing in, publishing, downloading a translation, scanning for variables. It shows only while something is actually out, and it never widens a row or moves the text beside it.
Shared with the site and the Manager
- Whether a translation has ever been published, and how a local address is spelled, are now decided in one place for the three products — so the mod, the Manager and the site say the same thing about the same file.
- Where a forked translation came from is worded once for the three, including the case nobody can answer: offline, or a source that has left the site, reads as "Forked" and never as a deleted account.
