TreeAI

TreeAI is an open-source, local-first AI chat application that organizes conversations into interactive branching trees instead of linear message histories. It allows users to explore alternative questions, assumptions, and responses without overwriting previous discussion paths. Each branch can use independent model settings, including temperature and token limits. The software connects to OpenAI-compatible APIs and displays streamed responses directly inside a visual canvas. Users can import text and Markdown files as conversation context. Sessions, model configurations, and node positions are stored locally in the browser through IndexedDB. Entire conversation trees can be exported as FreeMind-compatible mind maps. Built with React, TypeScript, and React Flow, TreeAI supports visual experimentation and comparison across language models.
