TechRefreshing Linux 1.0 ======================== TechRefreshing Linux is an independent Debian-based desktop operating system created by Anup Kumar Yadav and TechRefreshing. It combines the stability of Debian 13 with KDE Plasma 6, a beginner-friendly desktop, a macOS-inspired layout, APT and Flatpak support, and custom welcome, recovery and diagnostic tools. RELEASE INFORMATION ------------------- Version: 1.0 Architecture: amd64 (64-bit Intel/AMD) Base: Debian 13 Stable Desktop: KDE Plasma 6 Installer: Calamares Release date: 3 September 2026 Status: Stable SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS ------------------- - 64-bit Intel or AMD processor - 4 GB RAM minimum; 8 GB recommended - 25 GB available storage minimum; 40 GB recommended - 1024 x 768 display or higher - 4 GB or larger USB drive - Internet connection recommended INSTALLATION ------------ 1. Download tr-linux-1.0-amd64.iso and its SHA-256 checksum file. 2. Verify the ISO before writing it to a USB drive. 3. Back up all important personal files and recovery keys. 4. Write the ISO to a USB drive using a trusted image-writing utility. 5. Boot the computer from the USB drive and test the live environment. 6. Open Install TechRefreshing Linux and follow the installer instructions. Installing an operating system or modifying partitions can result in data loss if the wrong disk or partition is selected. Always maintain a complete, tested backup before installation. DUAL-BOOT INFORMATION --------------------- For installation alongside Windows: - Back up Windows and save the BitLocker recovery key, if BitLocker is used. - Disable Windows Fast Startup before installing. - Boot Windows and the TR Linux installer using the same firmware mode, preferably UEFI. - Confirm the Windows partitions and EFI System Partition before making disk changes. TR Linux enables GRUB operating-system detection. Windows may not appear when the two systems use different firmware modes, storage is unavailable, or disk encryption or Fast Startup prevents detection. After correcting the cause, run "sudo update-grub" from TR Linux. VERIFYING THE DOWNLOAD ---------------------- The authoritative checksum is supplied in: tr-linux-1.0-amd64.iso.sha256 Windows PowerShell: Get-FileHash .\tr-linux-1.0-amd64.iso -Algorithm SHA256 Linux: sha256sum tr-linux-1.0-amd64.iso The calculated SHA-256 value must exactly match the value in the checksum file. Do not install from an incomplete or mismatched download.
