Tidy Files

Tidy v0.2.0 — a big step up from v0.1.0: fourteen cleanup tools, glass design, tabs, and a command palette.

✨ Highlights

• Light Glass / Dark Glass — native macOS vibrancy with frosted chrome, a Finder-style smoked-black sidebar, soft reflections in dark mode, and six accent colors
• Clean Up, rebuilt — 14 tools in 4 categories (Space · Cleanup · Developer · Media): large files, storage analytics with an interactive treemap and usage history, hash-verified duplicates, duplicate folders, old/temp/empty-file finders, broken symlinks, caches, dev artifacts (node_modules, DerivedData, dist…), Git repo dashboard, and perceptual similar-image detection
• Command palette (⌘K) — jump anywhere, run any tool
• Multi-tab file browsing (⌘T/⌘W) with per-tab history
• Bulk Rename Studio — find & replace, prefixes, numbering, with a live preview of every name

🔍 Search

Filename search via Spotlight with a local fallback, plus operators (type:image, ext:zip, dmg, size:>10mb), natural phrases ("pdf larger than 20 MB"), content search, saved searches, and date/size filters.

🛠 For developers

Git repo dashboard with branch/status/size, dev-artifact cleaner, build-artifact finder, checksums (SHA-256/MD5) with verify, and a full file-content viewer.

🧹 Safety first

Nothing is ever deleted without review — everything goes to Trash, conflicts are detected up front (skip / replace / keep both), and originals survive failed moves.

📦 Install

1. Download the .dmg for your Mac (Apple Silicon → arm64, Intel → x64)
2. Open it and drag Tidy to Applications
3. First launch: right-click → Open (the build is unsigned, so Gatekeeper asks once)

⚠️ Notes

• macOS only
• Builds are unsigned — notarization is on the roadmap
• Content search requires Spotlight enabled
