Thumb-Key is a free, open-source Android keyboard designed for efficient thumb typing and improved privacy. Inspired by MessagEase, it replaces traditional keyboard rows with a compact 3x3 grid of large keys. Common letters are entered through taps, while less frequently used characters are accessed through directional swipes. Predictable key placement helps users develop muscle memory without relying on cloud-based word prediction. Its layouts support multiple languages, accented characters, and customizable key assignments. Gesture shortcuts provide text selection, cursor movement, deletion, clipboard access, and punctuation entry. Users can adjust keyboard size, positioning, themes, animations, and feedback settings. Additional tools include clipboard history, sketch-based character input, and integration with external voice typing applications.
