Version 5.55 was never released. Version 5.56 was compiled on Sequoia, but works fine on Tahoe as well. It does not support Liquid Glass on Tahoe, but Liquid Glass has a significant bug on Tahoe which we explain on the TeXShop home page. Since macOS 26 changes for Tahoe applications are minimal, TeXShop 5.56 is the recommended version there for now.
This version of TeXShop has one new feature:
- Previously, TeXShop did not syntax color ordinary parentheses, and the pairs { } and [ ] and individual symbols $ and & received the same syntax color, called the ``marker'' color. Now only $ and & receive the marker color, and three new colors are provided to color the pairs ( ), { }, and [ ]. When TeXShop is first used, all of these receive the old marker color. To change the three new colors, go to the Themes tab in TeXShop Settings, select the subtab ``Other Colors'', and choose new colors for ( ), { }, and [ ].
