Terminay v5.14.0 brings major enhancements to app windows, home workspace organization, and terminal management, along with improved connection resilience and HTML file previewing.
App Windows & Agent Integration
Terminal App Windows
Agents can now display MCP Apps and agent-authored HTML as windows within the calling terminal. Windows appear as floating, movable, and resizable panels that can be closed from their tab. On mobile devices, windows and tabs behave appropriately for smaller screens. Takeovers preserve previously filled-in content, and windows stay associated with their own project context.
Window Mirroring & Attachments
Non-controlling clients can now see a live mirror of a window's view. Mirrored snapshots stream in parts, removing size limitations. Windows can display saved documents with data, and files can be attached to window messages for richer content sharing.
Home Workspace & Tabs
Home Organization
The Home view now features tabs, splits, and a tab strip matching project behavior, providing a consistent workspace experience. Home's sidebar includes an empty band level with its tab strip for better visual hierarchy. The remembered arrangement persists as the page unloads.
Automation Improvements
Agents can now be prompted with multi-line prompts through the automation system. The action picker lists "Prompt an agent" as an available action.
Terminal & Connection Stability
Agent-Aware Idle Detection
Terminal inactivity waits now hold while a bound agent is actively working, preventing premature timeout during agent operations.
Connection Recovery
The system now survives sleep without losing connections or windows. File watches stop quietly when their connection is already gone, improving cleanup and preventing error cascades.
Terminal Movement
Terminals can now move between projects on the server, with the operation retiring the terminal's identity to maintain consistency.
Output Efficiency
Terminal output work is now proportional to the output event, reducing unnecessary processing overhead.
File Viewing & Remote Control
HTML Preview
HTML files now render as sandboxed pages in the Preview viewer, enabling safe viewing of web content within the file viewer.
Remote Control Management
The Electron app now lists remembered servers and provides install instructions for pairing. Beta container images are published for testing standalone server deployments.
AI Tab Metadata
Generated tab titles and notes are now applied on the server, ensuring consistency across sessions and clients.
Fixes & Polish
- Project tab tear-off and drops now work repeatably and land at the pointer position
- Errors raised while a terminal's editor was open are now properly retained
- Extensions sign-in prompt toggle is right-aligned for better UI consistency
- Close preflight for activity now reaches the server correctly
