Terminay is a free, open source (AGPL-3.0) terminal workspace that keeps native shells, files and coding agents together in one window, organised by project. Each project has its own root folder, colour, icon and docked terminal layouts. A Command Bar searches terminal actions, workspace commands and macros, and a Home dashboard shows every project, tab and agent by what needs attention. Automations run commands on a schedule or when an agent finishes, and multi-step macros handle prompts, waits, key presses and encrypted secrets. Sessions are recorded locally so you can replay and search them, and files, previews and Git diffs sit beside your shells. A built-in MCP server lets Claude Code, Codex and other agent CLIs running inside Terminay read output, open splits and run commands, with permissions you set. You can also reach your terminals from a paired browser over WebRTC. Available for macOS and Linux.
