Terminay v3.5.0
This release ships built-in agent extensions, restructures the agent runtime to use the extension platform, and improves Electron startup isolation and workspace recovery.
Agent Extensions Platform
Built-in Agent Providers
Terminay now packages four built-in agent extensions—Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, and Oh My Posh—directly into the application. These extensions are staged during development and bundled with packaged releases, eliminating the need for separate installation steps. The extension platform now fully manages agent provider lifecycles, including manifest loading, dependency resolution, and runtime composition.
Extension API for Agent Authoring
The extension API gained comprehensive agent provider contracts, including environment observation, topology discovery, and dependency targeting. Third-party extensions can now observe terminal process environments, declare dependency targets for SSH and Puzed providers, and integrate with the built-in agent broker. New documentation and example fixtures guide extension authors through agent provider implementation.
Agent Runtime Refactoring
The agent runtime was restructured to route all provider operations through the extension platform. SSH and Puzed providers migrated from legacy composition to extension-backed runtimes with private vault isolation for dependency management. Agent journal discovery, terminal binding, and lifecycle event handling now flow through extension child processes, improving isolation and testability.
Desktop and Workspace State
Electron Startup Isolation
The Electron app now distinguishes between initial startup and workspace recovery, preventing stale observer lockout during recovery. Desktop instance identity is isolated per user data namespace, and process working directories are properly scoped to foreground CLI chains. Embedded workspace persistence and user data process locking ensure clean state transitions across app restarts.
Workspace Persistence
Workspace state is now server-owned and persisted through extension profile-save environment creation. Project environment persistence was hardened to prevent race conditions, and the desktop instance identity system ensures each Electron instance maintains a unique, stable identity across sessions.
Project Environment Improvements
VM Creation and Forms
The project chooser now keeps only direct VM creation actions, removing redundant provider-specific variants. The Puzed VM creation form was aligned with platform defaults for consistency across project environment types.
Agent Status and Sidebar
Agent status reporting now includes Cursor CLI detection alongside existing provider support. The Agents sidebar displays populated agent sessions with improved visual focus and real-time status updates.
