This release introduces hook-driven agent status tracking and a new Agents sidebar pane to visualize Codex and Claude Code sessions in real time.

Agent Status and Sidebar

Terminay now recognizes Codex and Claude Code through their lifecycle hooks, showing provider-neutral status indicators for each agent session. Agent state—working, waiting, blocked, done, or idle—drives compact RAG indicators on terminal tabs and in the app header. The new Agents pane appears in the project sidebar, listing root agents and their in-process subagents with exact click-to-focus navigation. Subagent names use structured task identifiers when available; root sessions show descriptive titles. Expansion state is remembered per project.

  • Agent status uses hook-provided lifecycle events instead of fallback heuristics
  • Agents pane shows project-scoped root agents and in-process subagents
  • Yellow indicator for working, red for waiting or blocked, green for done, neutral when idle
  • Click any agent or subagent entry to focus its exact terminal session
  • Subagents are collapsed by default and never auto-expand

Terminal Activity Refinements

The sidebar improvements include reorderable panels for Explorer, Agents, and Git using drag handles or arrow keys. Terminal activity signals remain available as fallback for shells and agents without working hooks, using OSC 9;4 progress, OSC 133/633 command markers, OSC 9/777 notifications, and terminal BEL before consuming raw output. Hook-backed agent state takes precedence and is never overridden by terminal signal fallback.

  • Explorer, Agents, and Git panes are now reorderable vertically
  • Sidebar panel order is saved for future project tabs
  • Terminal signals no longer flicker or override hook-backed agent status
  • Progress signal timeout controls fallback progress refresh duration

Settings and Configuration

Agent status and sidebar features are managed through Settings → AI → Agents, enabled by default. This setting installs Terminay-managed Codex and Claude Code hook entries without affecting user-provided hooks or other provider configuration. Disabling the setting removes only Terminay-managed hooks.

  • Agent status and sidebar can be toggled in Settings without affecting user hooks
  • Codex and Claude Code hooks are installed and managed automatically
  • Turning off the feature preserves all other provider settings
