I think this program has great potential and an assured future as a top personal organizer. I'm using the Windows version that needs a bit of work on it but nothing that won't come good in time. I'm not using the synchronization feature as I work alone. I really like the flexibility that allows me to design my own workflow. Everyone has their own individual workflow procedures and this program allows individuals to tailor the system to their own needs. Fantastic! Thank you, Benjamin, for bringing us this great program.

Having people download the software that they think is free (since it is on sourceforge), only to find that they must pay for the ability to sync, is on the verge of dishonest. Let's be honest; without the ability to sync, this software cannot stand on its own. No thanks - I'll pay the $20 for Task Angel - at least they are honest enough to let everyone know up front what the software is going to cost them.

Pros: TaskUnifier have all the features required for task tracking including schedule alert and even nonoccurrence option. Cons: Space between the lines are to much, like it if the lines are closer, more compact and can see more things in one page. Hope that this will be improved soon. Thank you.

I have always loved the feature set of ToodleDo but hatted the awkward interface. TaskUnifier is more than just a cool modern uncluttered interface. It greatly enhances the ease of use and utility of ToodleDo. Well worth the cost of the download - installs smooth as butter

This is a really great organizer by itself. It is well worth the price. Even if it didn't have Toodledo Sync, it would be pretty awesome. If for some reason this looks too complicated to suit your needs, don't worry. It lets you customize the interface so that you can see as much or as little as you want. Personally I don't use half of what they offer and fee very comfortable using the program. Also, author updates pretty regularly, so that's a good thing too. One admonishment is that I had to write this review to make a popup go away. I get that motivation to review is a tough thing to muster, but is also a negative, like begging for a compliment. Especially when you get this nag screen every time you start the software even after you leave a comment. It's a weak move to force someone to a review page, but its a really poor move leaving no option to opt out.

Program never notified anywhere that I noticed that it was a paid program.

I am writing to say that the colour (Dark Blue) chosen for the highlight colour is rather nasty. Once a task is selected it becomes unreadable as the text is swamped by the Dark Blue.

Long ago I take ! All great! Thank you very much...

I've been using TaskUnifier for a couple of years. It is great. It syncs online and with my phone and puts all of my TTD (Things To Do) items in front of me. It allows me to organize with folders, add goals, set due dates, set start dates, mark the progress of tasks and so much more. You can customize the look and feel with a theme and customize the theme. You can add remove column headings, create custom headings and create task reminders. It also has a built in timer. I'm a consultant, so I use the timer to keep track of jobs I'm working on. This way I'm not guessing at the amount of time I was working on a project. This software does have a higher than normal learning curve than most FREE software, but that is because of the many features. I've learned a couple of news things today that will be helpful I've only used support a couple of times, but I scan the support pages periodically. This developer is very quick to respond and help you solve any issues. I'm not sure he ever takes a day off. No, I don't know him, never met him, never talked with him and I'm not related. Just appreciate the quality and obvious passion he has for his work. Yes, it is FREE. However, I paid for the ToodleDo plugin 11.99 (I think). I didn't have to, I made the purchase to support the Developer. Does anyone here want to work for FREE? I didn't think so. I've gotten so much use out of this software. Perhaps others might see the usefulness and think about a donation or buy a plugin you may not use to help this developer.

I've been using this software now for about a month now, well, I say 'using'! Not quite because, it doesn't work. I've tried it on my PC (Windows 7 64 bit, i7, 24gb ram) and my laptop (Windows XP professional). I really want this software to work, to the point of registering with sourceforge to leave this comment; yeah I know, what a sacrifice! ;) The problems, firstly, it's too far too slow! For example, click context drop down menu, click a new context, wait 2-5 seconds. When you're working on hundreds/thousands of actions, 3 seconds is a long time. Second big problem - TaskUnifier keeps losing my data. For example, in the left bar, under General, I have Hot List, Importance etc as usual. I have the balloon with numbers in - e.g. Hot List (19) (46). I click on this and voila, NOTHING in the list. This has happened a few times, guess what, on my PC and my laptop. I surely can't be the only one having these problems. And don't forget to restart is 45 seconds + 30 seconds (nag-ware), and the rest - FRUSTRATING!. I really want this to work!,I'm super passionate about GTD and Toodledo. E.g. I have customised (<-- yup, I'm British) lists for 'processing' my inbasket (shows all actions in Inbox, without a parent and all Projects). PS. I have the latest version of Java on my PCs. If this worked, I would HAPPILY pay the 12 dollars! I haven't looked at TaskAngel, and for some strange reason, I don't want to. I want this to work as it should. Thanks.

Fast download, fast install. Works a charm. As others have said, during the short delay (about 30 seconds) without a license, I can go refill my coffee. Worth the price of 12.99 and when I get the money together I will gladly pay it!

Muy buena por fin puedo tener sincronización de mis tareas en android, trabajo y casa, gracias al plugin, toodledo.

Yes it is the only free Linux program that can synchronize all fields of ToodleDo. Actually, I could not find any better for Windows either. And what is more, it does that perfectly! I'm therefore a happy cross-platform (and Android) user. Thanks!

The ToodleDo system is a great system (goofy name but great system). My biggest complaint with ToodleDo is the user interface. It's clunky and not well laid out. TaskUnifier takes away that pain. The TU user interface is well laid out and easy to use. In fact, I now spend almost no time in the ToodleDo interface. But I use TU day in and day out. Rick

Great way to get Toodledo on your computer. I prefer data stored locally and in the cloud, I use a different Toodledo client on my android phone and now everything syncs every 10 minutes. Also, the ability to define views is one of the main reasons I choose TaskUnifier. Very helpful to be able to see my many todos, reminders, and projects in different ways!

Not ready for production. Data Corruption/Loss when syncing with ToodleDo. Deleted the child/parent relationship of every single sub-task I had in ToodleDo (turned all of the subtasks into top level tasks without any link back to their original parent). Has some fantastic features, but is extremely buggy.

Great piece of software. One of the most completes software for task management out there. 100% recomended.

As said by other reviewers, this application allows me to sync with Toodledo, arrange my data according to GTD, and work under both Linux and Windows. I use Pocket Informant HD on my iOS devices, but there is no version of PI that I can use on my desktop and laptop. TaskUnifier fills the void. It is very well written, completely customizable, and has all the features I need. Very impressive!

This is the main tool I use for my day to day work. The tool is very flexible, and constantly evolving with frequent updates.

This is the only system which synchronizes with toodledo and can be used under linux. Under windows it installs easily. It supports the full range of features of toodledo and allows to create advanced views. It can be adapted to fully support the linenberger approach. It takes a while to find out how it works, but once one knows it it works superb. One should be aware that synchronisation with toodledo is not free, but very cheap, and the license can be used for all machines using the same toodledo account. Linux users should be aware that taskunifier works only with the SunJDK, not with the JavaJDK as it is on Ubuntu for instance. A quick search will reveal how to install the SunJDK easily. For creating advanced views one should note that this is done by pressing the + buttom at the button of the left pane. Suggested improvements: Make a check which JDK is used and ask the user to install SunJDK if necessary. Improve the documentation (e.g. that advanced views are added, edited deleted using the + and other buttons at the button of the left pane. Improve the documentation, maybe by using an wikipedia approach and let the users create the documenation.

Nice little program. Gets the job done and is well worth the $12 for the Toodledo plugin. UI is a bit clumsylooking - not the latest fancy .NET controls etc. But it does what its supposed to and after a couple of days using it, you won't notice the difference. If you're using GTD / task management actively, and if you have a Toodledoo account, this is a must have.

Looks good so far. I've been a Toodledo fan for a long while, looking for something that keeps a local copy on my laptop, but syncs to Toodledo for all my other devices. This seems to fit the bill. A few things: • One DOESN'T need to pay $12 to TRY toodledo sync - skip entering the key, hit the sync button, and it syncs after a 30s wait. Note: the default settings don't sync on app-start and app-end, which is why it doesn't look like it's working. Visit preferences to tweak. • Can we have an option to sort notes by time-last-updated instead of alpha? Perhaps there is one, but there are so many settings that it's not obvious. • The original toodledo apps and website are pretty simple. This app adds a whole lot of power features. I have to wonder whether simpler would be more in the long run...

Good job.

Great piece of software. The $12 cost for synching with ToodleDo is nominal in light of the benefits of the program. And, importantly, the developer is EXTREMELY responsive, both in dealing with minor issues like license keys but also in implementing suggestions for improvements.
-
The app is free, and keeps a local copy of your tasks for free. You can purchase a license to sync with Toodledo for $12, to use on as many computers as you like (as long as they are the same Toodledo account). The license runs in unlimited trial mode, with a 45-60sec delay for syncing. $12 is very reasonable, and well worth the price. Task Angel offers similar functionality with licensing costing $20 for two computers. In the end, Task Unifier won my vote as it offers all the same features as Task Angel, with some advanced features more readily accessible, plus it offers a very useful calendar view which Task Angel is missing. Well worth the price of the ToodleDo sync plugin, and absolutely awesome if you don't need to use Toodledo.

Mostly works fine, don't leave it open when shutting down Windows as this sometimes corrupts your task files. It has a robust backup process though, so chances of losing anything is small. VERY responsive support, sometimes I get the feeling that this new minor release was made just for me, because I logged a bug that got fixed.
