Remote MCP server (server-side)
The Tangent server now speaks the Model Context Protocol at /mcp — streamable HTTP, stateless JSON, on the same port and bearer tokens as the REST API. Curated tools over the service layer: search_notes (the Ask retrieval), list_recordings / get_recording (speaker names rendered), list_notebooks / get_notebook (typed text + handwriting words), list_todos, create_text_note, create_todo. Writes publish to the sync change feed (device id mcp) so every paired device pulls them. Deleted entities are invisible; Google bookkeeping and embeddings are never exposed.
Welcome dialog redesign (client)
The first-run pairing walkthrough is restructured for clarity: labelled "On your PC — one-time" and "On this device" phases, numbered step badges, and every command in its own code card with a tap-to-copy button. The dual PowerShell/bash log-grep block is replaced by the shell-neutral docker compose logs tangent-server --since 2m.
Updating
- Server (required for
/mcp): pull the new image and restart —docker compose up -d --build, ordocker pull ghcr.io/gyratingseacow/tangent-server:1.46.0. Your data and device pairings survive. - Android: install
tangent-v1.46.0.apkover the existing app. After any reinstall, Android requires re-granting the storage folder (Settings → Change folder) — expected behavior, not a bug. - Devices carrying a debug-signed build must uninstall it first (release and debug signatures differ).
