ScreenCrest
A lightweight screen recorder for low-end PCs — no lag, no watermark, no time limit.
ScreenCrest is a tiny, fast screen recorder built for weak, old and budget Windows machines. It records your full screen, a window or a region — with system audio and microphone in a single file — using a low-footprint software encoder that keeps CPU usage down and won't tank your frame rate on low-end hardware. No watermark, no time limit, no account.
If OBS is too heavy and CamStudio is abandoned, ScreenCrest is the small, maintained option.

How to record
- Open ScreenCrest.
- Pick a source — full screen, a window, or a region.
- Choose audio (system, microphone, or both).
- Hit the red Record button. Hit it again to stop.
- Your video is saved to the output folder — no watermark, no limit.

Built on Captura
ScreenCrest is based on Captura by Mathew Sachin, which is MIT-licensed and no longer maintained. ScreenCrest continues it as a lightweight, low-end-friendly successor. The original MIT license and copyright are preserved in LICENSE.md.
