portable contains an installer for the portable apps framework. Just in case you prefer to carry your SBW on a stick with you ...
libSBW contains the core C++ library and the Broker. In otherwords this is the bare minimum you really need if you want to develop new SBW modules in C++.

As always there is also the experimental SBW installer available that updates much more recently than the downloads here on SF.
