README.TXT ---------- RightMark Processor Power Management Panel (PPM Panel) is a GUI-based application designed to enhance the OS Power Management capabilities, those available by the use of the Power Options Advanced settings dialog box or by the use of the PowerCfg command-line tool. RightMark PPM Panel can be used to perform the following tasks: - List AC and DC value preferences for any power setting in active power plan. - Set AC and DC value preferences for any power setting in active power plan. - Configure attributes of individual power settings, including those with hidden attribute set up. - Task scheduler can monitor 10+ various events and invoke 10+ related actions. - Monitoring of processor energy consumption. - Tweaks chipset and processor power management features. - Voltage tweaking is supported for some processors. AMD K8 was tested. Intel Silvermont (ex-"Bay Trail") is under investigation. Make sure p-state time check interval is long enough for successful undervolting. (e.g. 200ms for AMD K8 and 100ms for Intel Silvermont). OS supported: Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1(Win blue), and Windows 10. Note: Do not run this application under OS installed on virtual machine. Most VMs do not supply full PPM information. RightMark PPM Panel 2.2.1243 (setuppm-x86.msi, setuppm-x64.msi) - Intel Core microarchitecture (65nm Merom/Conroe, 45nm Penryn/Wolfdale) support added (not tested). - Intel Silvermont/Airmont : voltage tweaking algorithm tweaked itself (not tested). - power plan switching added to the system tray menu. - some GUI changes. MUI (localized) strings added to tray menu. - auto-check issue fixed. the administrative rights are required to update the application. - help content modified. - setup changed. some components added by demand. Voltage tweaking is supported for Core-based processors. Make sure p-state time check interval (see PPM Settings) is 100ms or more for successful undervolting. RightMark PPM Panel 2.2.1166 (setuppm-x86.msi, setuppm-x64.msi) - bug-fix release. - minor GUI changes. memory leak fixed. - help content modified. RightMark PPM Panel 2.2.1152 (beta/setuppm-x86.msi, beta/setuppm-x64.msi) - Client "beta expired" - bug fixed. - beta build with expiration date control. - help content modified. RightMark PPM Panel 2.2.1147 - beta build with expiration date control. - Intel processors support on-die temperature sensor offset correctly. - On-die temperature sensor support is added for Intel Atom processors. Tjunction value is 90 by default. For some models it must be corrected to 100 (see http://ark.intel.com/products/family/29035/Intel-Atom-Processor). - HtmlHelp closing bug fixed.
