Retroarch-openelec is a Kodi/XBMC plugin dedicated to OpenElec system.

RetroArch is a tool for playing you favourite retro games. It wraps around libretro API and supports a huge list of emulators. For more information visit: http://www.libretro.com

OpenELEC is a small Linux based Just Enough Operating System (JeOS) built from scratch as a platform to turn your computer into a Kodi (previously XBMC) media center.

Installation

First, uninstall previous RetroArch version through Kodi Settings->Addons.

There are two ways for installing:

  1. Download "full" zip file and install it within Kodi/Xbmc. Be patient, wait until "Retroarch addon activated" is shown. Execute the RetroArch addon from Programs, again, be patient, first run will install the binaries. After a while it shall come up with a nice red gui.

  2. Download "tar.gz" file and "install" script, upload and ssh to OpenElec machine, execute the "install" script. Then install the "plugin" zip file within Xbmc/Kodi.
