Project Infinity-X 4.1 · redwood

Android 17 for the POCO X5 Pro 5G, built from source and signed with my own release keys.

Android Build Kernel Status

⬇ Download the 27 October 2026 build

Before you flash

The bootloader stays unlocked, so some banking, payment and DRM apps may refuse to run.

Coming from another ROM? Format data. Already on this ROM? Sideload over it, no wipe.

What's in it

Kernel

  • Vajra-Neo 1.0, a GKI-based kernel: root it with any manager you like

Audio

  • Dolby Atmos: the Xiaomi Dolby app on the Motorola DAX engine, spatializer included
  • LHDC v5 Bluetooth audio

Haptics

  • Rich haptics for every vibration effect
  • Stronger feel for toggles and system effects

Camera

  • MIUI Camera, everything works including filters

Gaming

  • GameSpace from AxionAOSP: high touch sampling for any app with its option

What's new in this build

  • Initial release of Vajra-Neo 1.0, a new GKI-based kernel with the latest kernel features: MGLRU, per-VMA locks, the EEVDF scheduler, sched_ext, zram with lz4 and zstd, Clang CFI and shadow call stack
  • Blur is on across the system. Updating from an older build? Turn on the Blur tile once
  • Recording in other apps no longer loses the mic after WhatsApp used it
  • Front camera video no longer freezes when you tap to focus

Known issues

  • NFC doesn't turn on yet
  • A green line can flash on the front camera now and then

For what's new in Infinity-X itself, see the Infinity-X changelog.

Install

Already on this ROM? Sideload the new zip from recovery (step 4). No images to flash, no wipe.

Coming from another ROM? Start at step 1. Other recoveries won't take a zip signed with my keys, so the three images go on first; boot.img carries this ROM's recovery.

1. Check anti-rollback.

fastboot getvar anti

If the number is higher than your firmware allows, stop. Flashing past anti-rollback hard-bricks the phone.

2. Flash the images.

fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img

3. Boot to recovery and format data.

fastboot reboot recovery

Then Factory reset → Format data.

4. Sideload the ROM.

In recovery pick Apply update → Apply from ADB, then:

adb sideload Project_Infinity-X-4.1-redwood-27.10.2026-GAPPS-UNOFFICIAL.zip

Reboot when it finishes. The first boot can restart once by itself after about 40 seconds; that's normal.

Root: the kernel is GKI-based, so use any root manager you like with this build's boot.img.
